When will the hurting stop. Im 37 married, 2 beautiful kids and I cant enjoy a second of it. Not a day passes that I get up and think how much easier it would be if I didnt make it through the day. The I think that my wife and kids will be alone and I feel even worse for thinking that. God!, when will it cease

Are you happy in your marriage? I don't know alot about depression but I know mine has happened again because of a break up. Is there something in your life that you are not happy with or has something traumatic happened in the last little while?

As wilth most people, there are many things in my life that I could be happier about. And yes, my mother passed away last year. Thats not the cause though. I have been battling this for years now. Its just lately, i feel it coming back with a vengance. Its 10:30 Am easter sunday, and im watching the clock for a good enough excuse to have a drink. It doesnt really help but it numbs it.

Sorry you're hurting but, you will see when you look thru these boards that you are not alone, there is help available and, there will come a better day.
What has put you in this state? If it's chonic disease, depression just seems to go hand in hand and the secret to an enjoyable day is having tools at our disposal to work thru the feelings.
My strongest suggestion is to seek a therapist, someone to talk with, to unload your anger, fear, disappointment on and come away with some insight in to how to cope.
There are support groups, meds, therapists.. different ways to deal with this and I urge you to seek out, as soon as possible, each avenue and make use of what is available.
I suffered terribly with depression because of my Ulcerative Colitis and the way it completely changed my normal, hopefull, happy, healthy life. I was robbed, as far as I was concerned, of the life I knew and, it would never be cured.
After two years of therapy, I can at least deal with my feelings and not let them rule me.
Also, add exercise (any exercise) to your daily program. That introduces endorphines into the system and makes us feel better.
And, live IN each moment and appreciate it for what it is, whether with the kids or your wife, a movie, whatever it might be. Concentrate on what you are doing, not your hurt, and it will help you begin to cherish and look forward to those moments.
Good luck and begin tomorrow looking for professional support. You are going to have days ahead that things will be better. There is hope.

We get through this one day at a time.. :)
Give it some thought and perhaps you can decipher the why's and the wherefore's. Keep posting and reading. Maybe things will not look so bad after you read some of these horror stories. I feel for so many of the members and I consider myself lucky.
There is no such word as can't. Can't simply means wouln't. Grab as much as life as you can. Future is a long way away for those who don't believe. Don't build a foundation of life on sand. It will take it away with the tide. Love a little more, be unkind a lot less.

if i was you i'd think about quiting drinking i don't know how much you drink but i just hate drinking and i think it has certain affects on some people like mood swings and deppresion. not everyone was meant to handle drinking i think. it really depends on how much you drink offcourse but if its 10:30 AM and your thinking about drinking that sounds like your addicted to me .. so you may want to work on your addiction and you might even have to stop it , reach out to a doctor etc. btw most anti-depresants don't work well with drinks too. thats my 2 cents.

I wonder the same thing everyday, when will it stop, is this always going to be my life?? I am a 30 yr old married mom of 4 with no care to go on from day to day. I have been doing this for almost 6 years now, changing meds like they are candy. I am now on just anxiety pills and have no gumption to contact my doctor for a new presript for I feel there is no help and this is just the way its supposed to be........ I hate this.

Sorry that you are hurting. Please tell us what is going on inside and giving you so much pain. Most of my pain comes from myself and the anger/guilt/shame of the many mistakes I have made in my life. It is much harder to forgive myself than to forgive others. There are brighter days ahead. Chart a course for them, get help from a professional if needed. Good luck and hope you find the answers you are looking for.
We can respond to irritation with a smile instead of scowl, or by giving warm praise instead of icy indifference. By our being understanding instead of abrupt, others, in turn, may decide to hold on a little longer rather than to give way. Love, patience, and meekness can be just as contagious as rudeness and crudeness.
