Hi Akram, Your not alone in this at all and please know that you can always find encouragement here with us. Don't be disappointed with yourself for missing a day of work. This is why you want to set your goal off small and think okay I'm going to going to work all this week. Try not to worry so much about next week it comes soon enough...
I failed to come on time today >< I arrived at 1:30 AM and I'm very disapointed in myself for doing it even though my manager said its ok. I just talked to him about it. So my attempt started 11/june and ended 28/june june29 is the new start , hope this time i would make it to a month lol.
And els I didn't answer your post, giving myself a present doesn't sound like a good thing to do. I should buy presents to others for something like that. In our culture it's required when youu graduate or something like that , you get your close ones toghether and get them kunafa ( arabic delight ) lol. // thats how we do it^^ To be or not to Be
You did well for a few weeks Akram...don't be so hard on yourself. You did good.
I understand about the different culture, and perhaps if you wanted to get others gifts that would be okay but they may wonder why your buying them stuff for no real occasion?? I have always set goals for myself like that going all the way back to when I first went off to school at University of MO. I would say if I got an 90 or higher in a certain class that may be hard or whatever than I could buy myself the pair of shoes I had been wanting that I didn't want to spend all the money on, or that really great purse. It gave me incentive to try harder, and I had to stick to my resolve that if I did get below what I set as my goal, I didn't get my reward. Things are very much different here in the United States though....
lol . els thanks a lot for your support. I beleave I can do it thats what counts I guess. offcourse when I got my first job I started buy things for myself but I never thought it was a present for myself and thanks janetlee, I also would like to cheer you !
GO GO janetlee! GOGO janetlee GO janetlee! :) To be or not to Be
I agree, Akram, dont be so hard on you.....you did very well for weeks ;) its a great step forward, hang in there i know you can do it :) shell" Dwell not on the past. Use it to illustrate a point, then leave it behind. Nothing really matters except what you do now, in this instant of time. From this moment onward you can be an entirely different person, filled with love and understanding, ready with an outstretched hand, uplifted and positive in every thought and deed." Eileen Caddy
my latest attempt, I'm doing good so far, it's the 15 day mark :) elisha your words are very nice thank you and janetlee, shell67,atedogs , brownleaf and mysts ..
I wake-up a little earlyer than before so I can make sure I arrive in time. like around 8 AM. waking up seems to get eazier by the day. as long as I try to sleep early. I slept at 10:30 PM last night and I was full of energy in the morning. I think the medication is really starting to kick in now, but it's not just the medication it's me, i'm trying to change myself for the better. To be or not to Be
That's great Akram! Everyday should get alittle easier, hopefully. I go to bed at 9pm...like an old women (im 32)..but get up at 4am since my cat paws at me to let him out of my room so he can use the litterbox and eat. Such a pest...
Akram~just reading through the other treads i have been really excited for you for keeping it up for a long time. Even tho you fall just pick yourself off, dust off and keep going. I have faith in you. GOOD LUCK! in all you do but go day by day, week by week, and then when you hit one month you can go month by month...ha.
Akram, every day is a triumph! Keep putting one foot in front of the other. Sometimes I think that simple things are the things that pull us through. When I first hit a true depression that I needed meds to pull out of I knew that I needed something that would make me feel successful. I made sure that I made the bed everyday. It was a small thing but it allowed me to keep moving forward and believe that good things would happen. You rock!
