Our mission
HealingWell is about living mindfully and healing well with chronic illness. It is a place where people can reach out, find support and understanding, and share what has helped them with others facing similar health challenges.
Our articles, resources, and peer support community are designed to help people actively manage the challenges of chronic illness. The goal is simple: help each person feel more informed, less alone, and better able to take part in their own care.
Healing is not always a straight line. No one should have to navigate it without information, community, and hope.
Our story
HealingWell was founded in 1997 by Peter Waite after his own experience with chronic illness. His vision was to create a community where people could find understanding from others living through similar challenges, while also discovering that helping someone else can be part of healing, too.
Since then, HealingWell has grown through the trust and generosity of its members. The platform continues to connect thoughtful health information with real conversations from people who understand what day-to-day life with chronic illness can feel like.
Our team
 Peter Waite, M.S., M.A. Founder & CEO Peter founded HealingWell and holds Master’s degrees from Utah State University and Brandeis University. He is passionate about patient advocacy and building communities for people with chronic illness. He enjoys the outdoors, family history, and spending time with his wife and four children. |
