ACAI. Any good?

My niece (a nurse) told me that Acai juice/powder/caps is good for IBD. It may have been discussed on here previously. I googled it, but apart from it being a 'very powerful antioxident' and a price to match, there was no mention of UC.
I wonder if anyone has tried it from this forum?
I tried acai juice a while back. Didn't see any noticeable benefit from it then.

VSL#3 probiotics, Metamucil capsules, Forvia multi-vitamin
Vitamin E enema or Canasa suppository occasionally

It's one more positive food to add to one's diet. That alone should be a good thing.

It's not a cure all as many of the ads claim but it does have great anti-oxident properties. I always feel better after consuming anti-oxident products. I actually prefer decaf green tea (it's cheaper too!). I don't know if feeling better is all in my head or not but I can live with that :)

I agree that it does seem like a good amount of antioxidants to add to your diet (...now if only it wasn't way overpriced).

And often adding a combination of several such foods/supplements to your diet can have some effect, so maybe it's a matter of not just counting on one thing to get that necessary benefit.

Cheers everybody. I guess one can't get too much antioxident in one's system with UC.

Another string to my bow I suppose.
