Anxious….

Hi all.
Today (well for the past 3-4 days) I have been stressed about my dog and his follow up X-rays..I am such a worrier when it comes to my fur babies and today I’m noticing it. He had his follow up this morning and we received good news but my body has still been hyperactive all day I feel. sad My heart rate has been high I can feel it…does anxiety cause others to feel totally off for a day or so then pulse back to normal? 🫣Also I’m 7 weeks pregnant and I know my heart rate can increase with that naturally with the increase blood/flow. My anxious mind however is wandering. Thanks for any reassurance.
Are you on any medicine for anxiety?

I'm on Lithium (stabalizer) and Mirtazapine (anti-depressant) for my bipolar, and if I wasn't on any medicine I would be all over the place because I was before I took the medicine.

The net says, "Anxiety sets off the body’s “fight or flight” response as part of the autonomic nervous system (ANS). When you feel uneasy about a situation, your ANS kicks in, increasing your heart rate."

This is another reason to take anti-anxiety medicine. It can probably then go from anxiety to chest pain. Have you ever had any chest pain?
No chest pain. I have been on sertraline for quite a few years now. I know it’s only because this has been a very stressful few days but it’s getting the best of my anxiety. sad
You say:

"No chest pain. I have been on sertraline for quite a few years now. I know it’s only because this has been a very stressful few days but it’s getting the best of my anxiety. sad"

webmd.com says about Sertraline:

"Sertraline is used to treat depression, panic attacks, obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, social anxiety disorder (social phobia). This medication may improve your mood, sleep, appetite, and energy level and may help restore your interest in daily living. It may decrease fear, anxiety, unwanted thoughts, and the number of panic attacks."

So that discription says it treats anxiety and depression, so we're hoping you're pretty well covered. Do you see a psychiatrist?

If you feel your anxiety or deprerssion is increasing you might consider visiting your psychiatrist and increasing the doage of sertraline or changing to another medicine.

These are just my opinions as a bipolar.
sertraline is known for failing to work after a number of years. 6 yrs was all i got from it but it was very good while it worked
