I was diagnosed with Lyme in March of this year. I have purchased the Unlocking Lyme book and have read up on modifying your diet to help decrease inflammation and yeast. I have had a couple bouts of IBS and battled with colitis a couple of years ago. I was wondering is there a preferred book that outlines what the guidelines are for LD warriors, and is there anyplace or source where you can create a daily meal
plan based on the guidelines. Any suggestions are appreciated. I see my LLMD for my initial appointment in January, but I want to get a jump start on this.
Hocking - I ordered a book called Recipes for Repair from Amazon, but I haven't started cooking with it yet. A quick browse through tells me I think I'm going to find some pretty decent options to broaden my diet a bit. It was expensive - I think I paid 22.
I've been feeling like I'm eating the same things over and over, so I need to get some variety in the diet before I decide to fall off the wagon. 😀
Good luck amassing the nutritional info. It seems like there are a lot of opinions on what's best.
Peace

Hi Hocking,
Check out Civilized Caveman Cooking.com. They have an app called Caveman Feast that has really good recipes and a meal plan function.
The banana bread recipe - modified adding blueberries and pecans and baked as muffins got me thru my first three months lol.

My LLMD has me following Dr. Gundry's diet recommendations plus some additional, so no grains, no cow dairy, minimal sugar (which means no alcohol) and no nightshades. I avoid hawaiin type fruits which have a lot of sugar, but I have a smoothie with berries, broccoli and supergreens plus a liver detox powder.

Hi,
I have been experimenting with a number of different diets. Dr. Rawls' Unlocking Lyme is a great book and I like that you can customize the diet a bit depending on what other health issues you may have going on. I personally follow the specific carbohydrate diet, which lines up quite well with the lyme diets I see out there. I then follow Dr. Rawls' suggestions for leaky gut.
I bought Recipes for Repair after going to a lecture by the authors, Gail and Laura (mother and daughter). The recipes I have tried so far are fantastic! She organized the book quite well and it is easy to read.
When I stick to the diet my digestion is SO much better, and other symptoms as well.
Good luck!
