alright here is my problem mayb someone can help me. i have filled out a fafsa like 4 times ive put that i live on my own nd still they tell me that my dad makes too much money for me to get financial aid but that is crap he is a single parent of 2 i have SLE and my sister has 2 kids. i have tried everything. is there sum kind of a scholarship out there for people like me i have only found one but in order to qualify u have to already be in college and that was the l.i.f.e. scholarship i would love to go to school to be a chef but i just cant get any help paying for school wat can i do?
Hey Spicychick. I am sorry you are having problems getting your fafsa. I actually enrolled for a tech school this year and found out that you have to be 25 in order for the fafsa not to look at your parents financial information. OR to have a legal guardian because when you turn 18 you will be on your own...Yeah, the govt thinks weird in my opinion, but since I did have a legal guardian I ended up being able to file for myself. about your dad making too much money...When I filed for my first fafsa when I was 17, both my parent were retired and they turned me down. They said that I made too much money and my parents had too much money. What? They are retired..they dont' have an income coming in...OH WELL!!! And I think I made like $8000 dollars that year working. They don't consider things like car insurance,payments, car repair and bills. GRRR
Have yout talked to your financial admin where you want to go to school? I am sure they have some loans and grants they might be able to hook you up with. I am sorry I don't have any adivce but I am pretty sure you still can go to school, you will just have to get loans and pay them back which, your financial advisor can assist you with!

i know its pretty hard to get a loan right now, but if your credit score is good enough could you take out a student loan and then pay it off after you finish school? it could be a possible option, maybe also talk to the school you plan on attending and see if they have some financial aid programs or put you on a payment plan. i wish i could be of more help!
