I have been waking up with severe backaches and it takes a couple hours for them to go away after I wake up. Has anyone else had this problem while taking Taxol? I dont know if it has anything to do with Taxol or if my back has some other problem. I have my 3rd dose today so we will see if it keeps going or not.

Hi everyone, interesting comments about Grey's Anatomy. I DVR'd it but had decided that I wouldn't watch it because I'm so emotional about breast cancer after two bouts within 17 months but sounds like it was worth watching.
Bernadette I too experienced back pain with Taxol mostly extreme lower back. I talked to my onco and he said that was an unfortunate side affect. Sorry you're having to deal with that. How much longer is your chemo? The good news is as soon as I stopped chemo I started to feel better.
Of course that only lasted for a couple of weeks because I started radiation but I'm through with that and hopefully on the mend. Hooray!
I've been thinking about you guys but haven't logged on in awhile. Missed the fellowship, seems like a only a select few can truly understand all aspects of this disease. Guess I'm in an exclusive club!!

I started my treatments in August I have 5 more Taxol to go and then onto rads.

Wow 5 more to go. How often are you getting your treatment? I had 4 treatments - one every other week and 35 days of radiation. I'm glad that your other side effects are minimal - the fatigue thing is hard and unfortunately since the radiation followed so soon after the chemo I don't think I had a chance to get built up in between.
I think the fatigue also played a huge part in depression for me. I would have days when I was very weepy. How about you.

I have already done my AC and now my Taxol is weekly for 8 weeks that is why I only have 6 more...Dec 19th and I will be done with chemo at least for now. I have issues with spots in my lungs and spleen so Im not sure what they will do. Im supposed to have another Cat scan in January to check the progress of my spots. I had terrible side effects on my first treatment, I had a reaction to the Taxotere so they took it out of my chemo cocktail.
I have had my share of being down too and the fatigue does not help. I have been so tired and working alot so it is all I can do to get up in the morning.
Were you just diagnosed in August? I was diagnosed July 15th. What all have you had done so far? I dont think I remember your history. Thanks for the letter.

Hi Bernadette, I had my first diagnosis July 04 - had mastectomy, reconstruction, A/C chemo then in June 05 had a recurrence on my scar, surgery then Taxol and then radiation.
Wow I bet you're looking forward to Dec 19th - although a survivor friend of mine said not to use my time wishing for the treatment to end, instead enjoy today. Her motto is love your life and live your life.

thanks tried hard not to think of having biopsy done today - was sooo nervous but made it through. Whew - was not fun. so monday i will get the results - that was my weekend - praying. lol thanks take care God Bless you. AmazingGraceIM

Bernadette, I was not up at 4 am my time, it was early here, 6:44 am but your computer translates time to your time most likely. LOL I have been up that early but not because I wanted to be, I prefer about eight in my old age. LOL. Had to get up by six all those working years. Hugs. MK
