Driving

Hi, my name is Rich aka Older Guy,

I'm supposed to be going out to lunch with friends. This will be after my Al-Anon meeting. I am just anxious about doing 2 things in one day, and also about driving. I know the area but am afraid of heavy traffic. And being around people at lunch - these are mostly people I know and like, but I still feel anxious. Right now I am just sitting around probably ruminating. Any feedback welcome.

Hi OG,

Sorry I know that it is way after the fact (crazy busy week for me)…

...but I do hope that you were able to go to your lunch and if so, that you enjoyed yourself!

There are times to push one's self a bit, and there are times when it is okay and even beneficial to scale back on our activities. Only you know what was the best choice for you...so I do hope that whatever decision you made, that you are feeling content with it tonight and getting the rest you need.

Keep us the great work of reaching out and working your coping skills my friend!

Hi S.C.,

Things turned out fine. My Al-Anon meeting calmed me down and made me comfortable around people. I felt calm when it was time to drive to the restaurant for lunch. The ride was actually very interesting, and I realized I need to get out more - just to drive around. Hooray! Lunch was fine and it was good to be around people.

Love, OG
OG....that is fantastic news!!
I am so happy for...and proud of you!
Well done sir!!

Keep up the great self help and care!
