first seizure in almost a year...treated like crap at ER

i haven't had a seizure in a LONG time, I just got my license back...
I was at PT for shoulder surgery and woke up in an ambulance, apparently having seizures.
when wheeled into the hospital i heard comments such as:
"she's full of crap"
"she's just faking"
"get a UA, it will be dirty as Hell"
"Still seeing Dr. Jordan(pain dr) to get your pain meds??"
"whats wrong with her arm" nurse-"somethings she's faking to get her meds"
"you can't fake this sh*** with me, I don't fall for that crap"
"she has no veins, she's used them all" (I do not have veins but not due to drug use, I have a port-a-cath)
a nurse twisted my eye brow to get pain response, a male nurse kept whispering "its Angela (last name) and the nurses would just go ohhh, like i was some frequent flyer drug addict. I haven't been there for a seizure in almost a year, and haven't been there since I've been seeing that PMD she spoke of, I have no idea how she knew....
and on and on....

I do have a history of seizures, and yes they are non-epileptic, but apparently they all think I'm some druggy, faking my disorder, and seeking pain meds.
I was left in a room for hours before seeing a dr.
Eventually was given Keppra IV and got better.

I had the director of the ER come to my room, and will file every complaint i can.
I am so tired of the hell I go through, and to add being treated like a total junkie off the street, well worse than that, makes me so very furious.

yes i have CP, yes I have a seizure disorder that you don't understand, yes I know that ER way too well, but in NO WAY do I deserve to hear such things being said. IF they feel that way, F*#* them, but don't dare stand over me and say these things. Even the EMT said, she wasn't full of crap seizing in my truck with an O2 of 75...
(after a seizure I can't respond but I can hear sometimes, this is how I heard these things)

I don't understand and it hurts so very bad.

they wouldn't let me talk to them and gave me another nurse that was nice, but My heart hurts so bad. sad mad

Are you sure the seizures are not related to Lyme? My son had 6 grand mal. They stopped after we started treating for Lyme and later on, Bartonella. Do you treat for Lyme AND co-infections?

I believe the toxins in his body were producing the seizures. He had both non-epileptic and grand-mals. His EEGs (2 of them) were both abnormal. He is doing much better now. He is 10. He used to get seizures every 2 weeks. Last one was in December last year. The last 2 grand mals were life-threatening. He stopped breathing. Anyway, don't listen to the clowns from the ER. They think they know it all, but they do not.

The anti seizures meds made my son worse. He would shake violently not stop. What made it all go away is antibiotics and a good detox regimen. Doctors didn't help. Now we see a new doc that is good. The others were all useless including the neuro pediatrician.

Don't let things get to you! I hope you are doing some detoxing. I came to the conclusion and often, seizures are caused by an overload of toxins that mess up the "voltage" of the brain. I usually post on the lyme forum.

I had a bad experience in the hospital with nurses. I know how you feel. I was getting a WADA Test to confirm the place of my seizures. The nurses were disrespectful, rude, demanding, and appeared as if they could care less about me. I felt like a brick in the wall last week during that procedure. The nurse messed up during the Video EEG when I had a grand mal and gave me a shot in my hip. Now I have nerve damage to me right hip. The other nurse during another Video EEG messed up during a grand mal and placed a device in my mouth DURING the seizure. My mouth closed down immediately, of course I'm not conscious, so now my bottom tooth has loosened from the root. My dentist confirmed it was from "trauma" and the root will eventually die and the tooth will rot. This is the same hospital I have to go to due to the latest equipment. The hospital was rated 4 stars, but like you say, it's some of the staff that need replacing. It does hurt your emotions. I cry at night when having flashbacks of these nurses harming me. A hospital or ER's treatment towards you will really effect you. It's a shame what we have to go through at our hospitals.
I recall going to the emergency room with the most awful pain in my back. They thought it was kidney stones and gave me a really good inject of something that stop the pain immediately. It wasn't kidney stones and the 2nd time I went to the emergency room they didn't give me the shot to relieve the pain. They told me it was muscle spasms and gave me some pills. The pills didn't work that well. Think they were suspicious of me wanting to get the high the injection gave me. I was a frequent visitor to the emergency room for various things. The last time I went for double vision and fainting spell they thought I might be having a stroke. After paying them $2000 for all the test which were done they could fine nothing. One of the doctors in the emergency room said I showed signs of MS in my lower body but the CAT scan and MRI ruled that out. When I saw my PCP he told me it was just old age and I would have to learn to live with it. I had to figure it out for myself since none of the doctors could help me. Disease is caused by toxicity or deficiency. This means you have too many toxins in your body and not enough vitamins and minerals to get rid of the toxins. In my case it was my teeth making me sick. I had too much mercury and too many root canals. I was living on fast food and soda pop so my body was not getting enough vitamins and minerals to deal with the problem. I saw a mercury free dentist and got my teeth taken care of. Started a program of juicing and eat real fruits and vegetables cutting out the bad things I was putting in my body. All my symptoms which were sending me to the emergency room are gone. If I had of listen to my PCP I would still be sick or dead. You have to figure it out for yourself. Don't rely on someone to do it for you. Four things you can do to get your health back are a proper diet, proper sleep, exercise and prayer and meditation. Good Luck.
I use to wake up in an ambulance and tell the person with me he never should have picked me up and then ask him to just drop me off somewhere and start crying because I know that feeling all to well . Sorry you had the experience. Don't let it keep you from going in when you need it. the last couple of times my seizures have included a pretty bad fall. in one, the side of my face was completely black and blue. I looked like the joker ! the other I think I suffered a concussion from but didn't relize it till later. both those times I should have gone in ! but didn't because I didn't want to deal with what your talking about. but something was really wrong with me ! know I have no proof from emergency records to confirm the severity and realness of it for me at times.please go in even if you don't want to or think anything is wrong ! P.S. sounds like your town or hospital or both are to small !
