Because of where my pouch is I have been having alot of problems with pants and belts. I found the solution! I wear womens maternity pants now. I wear longer style t shirts or shirts that dont have to be tucked in and no one is the wiser. Being male it is strange shopping in the maternity dept. but I take my wife with me so that helps. If you want to try it go to goodwill or the like and buy a used pair. I miss not having front pockets but I am getting used to it.
First time I tried on a pair my wife and bother were there as I went back into the changing room I asked them " Do these pants make my butt look big?"
They both almost split a gut laughing about it the rest of the day, LOL
No matter what we do keep trying to find the humor. I do!

I get some of my underwear from Whitrose collection.They sell underwear for male and female that have a higher waist than normal and also have a special inner pocket that is realy good at keeping the bag flat and also it gives that extra security incase of a leak.I have even had a swimsuit with the pocket in it,and that realy helped when i was on holiday.It made me feel realy confidant and you couldnt tell at all that i was wearing a bag.I have the pics to prove it but i am thick with computers and don't know how to post them lol.

Hi, I'm new at this site, but have had Crohn's for 23 yrs and have an illeostomy for 7 yrs, and before that had a transverse colostomy for 3 yrs. I am a RN, now disabled, but worked for 17 yrs struggling with the crohn's, and the last 3 yrs I had to work with the colostomy after a ruptured bowel. At that point I wore big baggy scrub suits, but the biggest problem was having to share one small bathroom with the whole floor's staff, and it was located right inside our small office. I soon was sick more than well, and it was a very high stressed and physically demanding job. So I had to leave a job and many friends that I loved and went on disablity. Many more surgeries left me with no recum, anus, large intestine, 1/3 of my stomach an 2/3 of my small intestine with the illeostomy. Since then I have had to wear mostly large womens elastic waisted jeans with long baggy shirts. I mostly wear the big cotton brief underwear, and try to keep the bag empty and rolled up and tucked in the underwear. I have tried panty gurdles, but they are too tight, and will not let the bag expand. If anyone is aware of a type of garment, or a company that makes specific garments for ostomy patients, I would love to know. Best wishes to all.
