Hello I’m sorry to all those still struggling with symptoms. I had surgery a year ago June and also for a hiatal hernia. It helped the throat as I had Grade 4 esophagitus. My Dr said there is no Grade F. I had an endoscopy in August and the Dr said I now have 7 ulcers. I am still producing too much acid in my stomach. I was wondering if this had happened with anyone. I would appreciate any information or help. I hope you all find the answers you are looking for. I know this is not fun to have. Take care all of you. 💕Lorray
I had Grade 4 gastritis and esophagitis also. I was put on Protonix 40 mg twice per day, and Carafate to coat the stomach from the acid. I am three months later and I feel much better. Try to stay calm. I got my postoperative inflammation because I had a very stressful six month postoperative period. Did the GI tell you if you had recurrence of the hiatal hernia (HH)? I started tapering off the Protonix and I am down to 40 mg daily and I take over the counter Zantac at night. My plan is to alternate 20mg and 40mg, then 20mg then Zantac twice per day. It takes 3-6 months to heal from the inflammation so I am going to take my time.
I also have fibromalgia and I am sure that disease process is a part of the culprit also. You probably had a Nissen wrap so I can’t help you with that surgery as I had a valvuloplasty. Hopefully others will check in.
