going for ooph tomorrow...kinda nervous

hi ladies,  I am FINALLY going for my oophorectomy and umbilical hernia repair tomorrow morning (7:30am ! yikes) and I am nervous about it...not the procedure, or the recovery, but about something going wrong... like really wrong, majorly wrong, and kaputz. gonzo. d.o.a.  am i nuts??? i am also worried about the i.v. because i LOATHE needles and now without my port i have to surrender my right arm which has NO VEINS LEFT in it, and they keep having to hit the one on the back of my hand, which HURTS LIKE CRAZY!  i was even entertaining the thought of cancelling the whole thing... an you imagine? after appealing it with the crapo insurance company (wellpath) and getting the ooph covered but not the hysterectomy?!?  i let that thought pass quickly...

so... i'm asking for some help....can the pce make an early pitstop here and lend some emotional support?? thanks so much.... i just can't wait til i know i am thru this procedure and safely awake.

nervous,
stef

Stef,
Sending positive thoughts for a smooth surgery and a speedy recovery...

Steph, I am sure everything will go ok. I understand your worries, especially about the IV the last time I was in the hospital they blew all the veins in my good arm with strong antibiotics. Some anethesia is more frightening to me than others, but none of it is good when you have to anticipate it, is it? We'll be there to hold your hand as you go into surgery and waiting for you as you come back out of the deep sleep. Prayers and hugs, MK

Steph, I'll be on the PCE. Everything will be fine, just normal jitters I am sure of it. I have to have the IV in my hand too. Ouch! But everything goes away when I fall asleep. I will pray for you and ask that He supports you and guides the surgeon's hands. I will be waiting holding YOUR hand. You know, that OR is going to get very crowded???

Love and hugs to you,

Candy

Many Holiday Blessings to All

Life may not be the party

 we hoped for,

but while we are here we might as

well dance.

I will be thinking of you and sending positive thoughts your way tomorrow.  My husband will be in surgery tomorrow morning, so I'll do double duty.  I was very nervous about my own surgery, since I've never been put under before.  The second one, when they used my hand, was much easier.  Hoping yours will be too.

Love and big hugs,

Kathy

We will be there. Busy day but you know we will not forget to stop for both of you. Best of luck to all of you. Joyce

People are like tea bags, you have to put them in hot water to see how  strong they are!

Steph,

Good luck tomorrow! I am sure all will be just fine! You might feel a little crampy and gassy, but that will be a piece of cake compared to what you have been through already....Hugs, Frayda

Steph, good luck tomorrow,.....I know you will be just fine. Close your eyes and think of your favorite Alan Jackson song...and it will be over before you know it!

L&H,
Lori

You bet Stef, I will be there! The one bit of advice I will give you is DON'T OVERDUE! Even when you start feeling better after a couple of days, rest, and DON'T OVERDO! I can't stress that enough. I went grocery shopping after about 3 days after I was home, even though my Dr said do nothing for a week.Only to get up and use the bathroom, etc. I felt pretty good, so I didn't follow orders and boy did I really, really regret it! I was almost in tears by the time I got out of the store. So take care sweetie and I will be there with all the others! L&H, Gail

It's only when we truly know and understand that we have a limited time on earth -- and that we have no way of knowing when our time is up, we will then begin to live each day to the fullest, as if it was the only one we had.   Elisabeth Kubler Ross

Stef, my prayers are with you today. Listen to all the advice you have been given here and don't overdue. Good luck.
