Hey there, sorry for the long delay in posts. I'm up and down with joint pain. Not terrible, thank goodness (knock on wood), but doing what I can. The diet is still going (trying at least), I haven't exercised in a couple of days due to foot pain (it actually has a sprained feeling to it.) The belly's acting up the last 2 days and let's just say it's a good thing we buy TP at Costco. 
Needless to say, after 10 days of dieting, I've only dropped about 1 1/2 lbs at best.
We had horrible rain on Monday. Yesterday it was 37 degrees when my daughter left for school, today it was 63. It didn't get up to 60 a few days ago and today it hit 80. We have a santa ana with really hot winds, and I actually feel worse than I did on Monday with all the rain! I have a new pain as well. Don't know if I strained somthing wrestling my son in to the bath the other day or something else is going on, It's my back left side of the spine area. seems just to the right of where my spleen would be. I should probably apply one of those patches I have on it at this point. The belly ache is aggrivating it, I think as well.
Saw PCP for follow up on Tuesday.Got a flu shot (first time ever - could that cause the bowel problems I'm having?) Bloodwork showed liver enzymes back to normal. Glucose back in normal range but cholestrol a bit high (hereditary problem, but doc said ultimately important I get that DOWN low.) Liver ultrasound - though the size of it has decreased since last year, it was showing signs of problems/possible damage. Doc says no can do the birth control, drinking (don't do much anyway) and gotta try and stay off Tylenol (forgot to ask if that meant Motrin as well - either way, how can I stay off that stuff???)
Kids are back in school and we're getting readjusted back to life. My son (4 1/2 yrs) seems to have a crush on a girl in school that is reciprocted apparently. He's the only boy in the class invited to her princess birthday party on Saturday. Too cute.
I hope you all start feeling better! I'm sorry the weather is so rotten for you. You gotta move out here. Erin, were/are you affected by that transit strike I read about the other day?

California here I come. Hah! The transit strike...what a stunt. These poor folks. Whatever they had on the news....wasn't at all that bad. Believe me, mass transit?...it's worse when it snows. The MTA is always a mess, so it's not such a deviation from the norm. BUT WHAT about THOSE PEEPS WALKIN' OVER THE BROOKLYN BRIDGE????? Holy cow!
That was the worst part I think. But the one great thing about NY and NJ is....we're good at one thing....and that's stickin' together.
We did it through 9/11... we do it all the time. There's a big brotherhood up here which is very unique.
Quite honestly, people need to walk..so I think the delays in transit was a blessing in disguise (unless of course you're sick).

Don't get discouraged about your dieting. Heck....stay clear of all scales! 1 and a half poumds in 10 days is good! At least you know it's just not water weight. Have you tried going mostly vegetarian?? It can be quite tasty and ya eat high volumes of food that's low calorie and healthy.
Should we bump up our "Weight Group" thread again?? Not a bad idea eh? New Year...New OUTLOOK on life. My cholesterol is SOARING...so I think I'll bump it up! LOL.
I wish you well mama. Hows your girls tummy? I really do not think your flu shot would aggravate your bowels...stress YES! apprehension YES! But sometimes when people get IM shots, they get a vaso vagal syndrome which can feel like nausea/urgency to defecate etc....

I don't think I could go vegitarian if my life depended upon it (hopefully it'll never come to that.) Animal protein does me a WORLD of good actually. When I've cut it way back, my body and joints do NOT like it! I'm better cutting the other stuff back. I think I might have a problem with lettuce, I do great with spinach salads, but the lettuce salads start giving me a stomach ache if I eat too many. Strange.....
Though the jeans, scale, and mirror aren't doing much for me yet - I do FEEL better, so that's a start. Now, if there could be some PROOF, I'd enjoy that.

gee wiz, i thought i would be lucky. last week & this week i went 6 straight nights with NO sleep; but sunday night slept from 1230am till 1130am! that was great. no luck tonight. it's 4:50am and i'm still up....no sleep for Erin. the joint pain in my elbows and shoulders are too much. i was really hoping that the dilaudids were going to really make it disappear! nope. i'm taking two 2mg tablets and they kinda work for like an hour or 2....then that's it. just throbbing and PAIN! aaaaaah i hate it! and i'm swallowing a cocktail of a rainbow of "pill help" attempting to get at least comfortable. i've got my cat Pea snuggled at my head & that's not even soothing.

I don't know what was wrong with the screen - it came in very slowly and then was all white in big font. It was strange...after a while, it cleared up as I moved about the site.
I'm so sorry to hear how you're doing, Erin. I wish we could get you some relief! What is the status on starting Remicade?
Did you ever get you a lawyer to help with your claims to SDI and social services? You need to get external help to get this pushed through for you.

I'm ready for bed! still not sleeping. this is awful...i hate it. even taking 2 sleep aids too! and i lube up with FluidJoint on my chest and elbows, take my pain meds....but the throbbing starts & then that's it! i'm hoping someone out there is having a great siesta! i think i'm gonna hit the 7Eleven! LOL. treating myself to a good BIG coffee & check out all the cops ready to go on shift! tee hee hee. it's good to live across the street from 24 hour markets. this is the all time WORST RA flare in my history. way too long! since december 25th! argh!!!!

They will give you solumederol as a pre-med and then the remicade...you need to start that asap!!!!

I hope you get some sleep tonight. I'm achy and rotten all over. Came down with the kid's flu yesterday. Hubby got it Thursday, the since the kids were on the mend and he was sleepig - I thought I'd get them out of the house a little bit for the first time all week. While out, it hit me like a semi. Been sleeping all day....sooooo miserable. I hope this ends quickly. Hubby seems to be a bit better today as he has been up while I have been sleeping - only he has to work 8 hours tonight and I fear his not taking a nap this afternoon is going to do him in.
Luckily, last night a friend sent him home and was able to take over his shift w/o his even asking. Isn't that nice?

I have the pleasure of staying @ my honey's today! Alone...but comfy at the least. Well, not comfy, everything is THROBBING! and painful. This stinks. But at least the snow is pretty to look at.
