I read in one of your posts that the Government will only pay for the "cheaper" and "older" meds. That's really unfortunate for you.
I don't know where you're from but I'm from Ontario and our Provincial Government will pay for "MOST" medications if perscribed by a Doctor. In some cases, the coverage will cover some of the cost and the patient is responsible for the rest.

I'm in New Zealand- though actually I was born in Toronto, Ontario 
I've been in New Zealand a long time though.
I got a bit more information the other day about accessing the newer meds in NZ- they are neurologist only drugs and you only get to see a neurologist if the paediatrician can't sort you out. So I guess we will only get a referral to a neurologist if Jessica runs into problems on the Epilim/Depakote.

Jennifer, I live in the United States and went on mdeicaid not to long ago. I had to change neuroligist but that was mostly do to my seizures increaseing. It is a little different being on medicaid but you can usually get the sme medications as if you had health insurance. Most DR> have a list of meds. that medicaid won't pay for and check it out before the give you any medications. With seizure medications I have not had any problem with any of the meds. being paid for by medicaid. Mary
