Has anyone had an abdominal incisional hernia repair and are willing to share your experience?
Way back when. Had mesh installed. Seemed to work , but it wasn't in very long due to more surgery which then took out the herniated section anyway. Have another now , going on 22 years but it doesn't bother me. Its at the top of the incision under my sternum and there is no gut that high on me, Drs said just live with it. Which I understand seeing as it would be like the 16th operation and give no real benefit.
I know they had trouble with some of the mesh back in the day so I don't know what they do in current times.
Also depends on size and location I guess.
