Yes . . . chronic illness most always bring some depression issues, especially if you have chroic pain with it. I too take lexapro and it is a real blessing! It allows me to be 'me' again.
I hope you continue to have good results with it!!
Blessings!

In His Grip,
Hey Guys,
Just wandered back over to this forum to see if there were any more responses and realized I had put down the wrong dose. I am on 20 mg of Lexapro. I was on 10 mg and was recently increased to 20 mg. I truly felt a difference for a couple of weeks and now I feel as if I am struggling (mood wise) again. I have also had an increase in my kidney pain for a few weeks so it is hard to separate the two i.e. if my pain would decrease, my mood would probably improve as well. I really wanted to know if there was any "room" to increase my dose if my mood continues to decline. It looks as if there is a little wiggle room which is a good thing.
Thank you to each of you for your input : ) I am wandering back to the CP forum for now - Take care!

Some of these newer drugs do have a low ceiling of effectiveness . . . meaning more isn't necissarily better. I sure would talk to your doc and see if he can either change your dose, if appropriate, or add another med to help you through this.
My rheumy has recently added amitriptelyne (which is another anti-d) to act as a sleep aid and it has done wonders for my sleep. Now I get long, restorative rest!! Yeahhh!!! This has helped everything improve, my pain is minimal now and I am starting to feel less fatique.
I hope you quickly figure out the best combo for you!!
Blessings!

There is no such word as can't. Can't simply means wouln't. Grab as much as life as you can. Future is a long way away for those who don't believe. Don't build a foundation of life on sand. It will take it away with the tide. Love a little more, be unkind a lot less.
