Hi All, I've got a hernia around the stoma,Does it bother me,I can't tell you cause it seems to have been around since I had m operation.If anyone has had a hernia operation,can you please let me know if it was worth being cut open again.. thanks, J

i JUST LAST WEEK SAW MY SURGEON FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. hE REFUSES TO OPERATE, INDICATING i ANNOT SURVIVE ANOTHER SURGERY. hE SENT ME TO THE HOSPITAL WHERE THE OSTOMY NURSE MEASURED ME FOR AN OSTOMY BELT, It will be a couple of weeks before I get it, but I am hoping it will help things.

I'm about to get surgery under my old stoma site (I was reversed in February). The hernia popped up right after surgery and in the past month or so has been causing debilitating pain (along with an ovarian cyst or two!).
It's supposed to be a really simple surgery, but my doctors told me NOT to go through surgery unless the pain was too much to handle.
More scar tissue = bad.
