Is there anyone on the board using humilog? If so how do you like it and how do you take it. My PCP want me to cover with humilog so I'll start tomorrow.

You only live once, but what you do now will determine how long that once will be.
I use Humalog and I'm the happier with it than I have been with Toronto (Regular). It starts working very quickly and brings down highs much quicker. (From what I hear, Novolag is similar, but does not begin to act quite as quickly.) Not only that, Humalog leaves the body fairly quickly.
I started pumping yesterday, and I'm still using Humalog. Prior to that, I took Humalog as a mealtime bolus dose as well as sometimes using it as a correction bolus.
I'm a Humalog user and I really like it. I use it to bolus meals and for corrections. I use approx. 15-21 units/day depending on what I eat. It works pretty quickly once administered. I usually take it 15 minutes prior to eating if my my bg is within the target range. If my bg is on the low side before a meal, I'll wait to administer the Humalog until right after I've eaten. I'm on a 1:15 carb ratio. Best wishes, Angie
i find humalog gr8 gives me very gud control and much more freedom bout wen and what i eat. Gud luck with it but be sure to give it a chance and yourself a chance to get used to it!
Hey! I used humalog for about 1 1/2 years, but changed to (very similar acting) novorapid a year ago because the humalog made me feel sick all the time and made my hands shake! Those side effects are rare so don't worry - I only finally figured out what was causing it when I met someone with the same thing - novorapid worked better for him too! Most of the type 1's I know use humalog and dispite my experiance I'd say it's worth a try - my control greatly improved when I started on it and it makes it easier to eat what you want when you want to. Just be carefull of taking it too long before you eat - it works quickly and can make you hypo!
