Husbands bypass surgery

Hi,
I’ve been a member for quite some time but in chronic pain forum. On Dec 27th my husband had emergency double bypass surgery. His left main artery was 80% blocked with another at 50%. He has been doing really well considering. But, he is having terrible shoulder pain. He says it’s right between his his
Shoulder blades. He thinks something was torn during surgery. Has anyone had this experience? Thank you in advance.

B, sorry to read about your husband but thank goodness his condition was caught! I have had a few friends that has had this surgery including my brother. All of them had various pain, but it eventually resolved. Just a guess on my part could it be referred pain or possibly inflammation. This is a brutal surgery.

He should contact his surgeon perhaps on the patient portal if they have one. If no portal is available, make a phone call.

Take care.

Hi Stray.
We have appt today. He has been doing really good the past few days. I think because he is so active. He never took a pain pill once coming home. He also does it sit still. He may sit in recliner 15 minutes but up he goes. Tornado hit my sons so his been watching all the clean up.
