Hey there,
I was wondering if anyone had experience trying this treatment. When speaking to my GI doctor, we were discussing alternative therapies in casual conversation. I often bring up different types of treatments I've read online etc. And he always indulges. Anyways, this time around he told me to research hyperbaric oxygen therapy as a potential (supplemental) treatment for UC. Then I did some reading and it looks like there have been quite a few studies on its potential efficacy. (see below for a couple)
I was curious if anyone had experience with this treatment or know much about it.
Thanks!

Seems like I recall some older posts here about it. You might do a search
UC pancolitis DX March 2016,
Partial Colectomy for diverticulitis Sept 2014
Discontinued as of January 2020: Apriso. Canasa & Uceris foam if needed.
Probiotics, Reuteri pearls, CoQ10, Metamucil daily.
Aimovig monthly injections for migraines.
Started Entyvio 3/29/17 (Constant flares since March 2016 only relieved by Prednisone)
IN REMISSION!

Hey, I've got an idea for you👌.
Try this audio on YouTube. I use it.
It's a frequency and it works similar to the real thing .
Search the following on youtube:
Sapien medicine - hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
Listen to it once a day or 2 but don't over use it.
Or even every second day.
Now did you know when you use hyperbaric chambers etc they cause free radicals in the body?
To combat this I use the following frequency: type this also in YouTube:
sapien medicine - glutathione super antioxidant.
Use 2-3 times 30 mins after the hyperbaric audio
I use these with earbuds or headphones.
Also be sure to check the comments section for help.
I listen to many energized frequency.
Tesla once said energy is the future of life.
Good luck

I used it last year. I am not so sure it assisted me in gaining remission, rather then my new meds. However, there is some recent research that shows it can be very beneficial to assist in reducing inflammation. The problem is that you need to be in the chamber for at least 10 times over a 14 day period. Each session is 1.5hrs. So it is very time consuming and very expensive. HBO is an amazing technology and unlike meds there is no downside other than the expense and time. You should look up the research that was done last year. It was more of a meta analysis.

I did hypobaric oxygen therapy twice a week for three months.
Absolutely no effect on my UC that I could discern.
Please note this can be done in a hard chamber or a soft chamber.
Hard chambers support higher pressure, but are more expensive and less available. I used a soft chamber.

Actually, the research would show it has to be a hard chamber to be able to get the pressure to high enough level. Also the KEY in HBO is the need to do it consecutively. As in 10 times over 14 days. Two days a week will unfortunately not assist in HBO. I am a real loser at copying the research but google HBO/Ulcerative colitis/2021. Interesting meta analysis.

I did 40 HBO treatments. It has to be done consecutively for it to take. It was a massive commitment especially when I was so sick. It closed my RVF but did not help with the other fistulas. I consider it a success (I had pre/post MRI's to verify).
UC/Crohns - tested positive for MAP antibodies & mycobacterium
PG- remission
chronic fistulas/abscesses 13 surgeries Failed setons...it was pure torture.
started Stelara May 24, 2017. 100mg imuran, IVIG
30 yrs IBD--started as parasites, then IBS, UC, PG, CD
Dog likely has IBD
Permanent port insertion 2019.
both parents had IBD. My advice: be selfless don't procreate with CD!
