I've had a couple of laminectomies in my lower back. I know I have bone on bone where the discs were removed. There were no stabilizers put in but now I'm being told I have scolosis and degeneration in my upper back. I'm only 41. Is this arthritis or some other condition?
I do not know anything about this condition, but by searching the web I have discovered that it is not arthritis. However, it could lead to arthritis later on.

do you see a rheumatalogist or an orthopedic for your problem? degeneration of the discs, (if that's what we are talking about) sometimes come from OA...and could lead to the loss of that cushion separating the vertebra. there is also a form of arthritis which is of the spondylitis form. you might hear of ankylosing spondylitis...where the bony parts of the spine and all kinda fuse together.
i have to read more about laminectomies for i'm not too familiar, maybe i can find some accredited info and some good tips for relief.
i do feel however that any spinal bone on bone will cause pain, stiffness and discomfort. and arthritis can unfortunitley hit @ any age. :(

Thanks much. The lower back condition I've had for some time. But the upper back issues are new. I'd beenhaving some discomfort but didn't go to the dr. until I had some breathing problems and it was discovered in a routine chest xray.
