keeping a journal

I havent been diagnosed with bipolar yet but I really think thats its possable that I have it.  Since the idea crossed my mind, I told my mom that I thought that she was bipolar.  She totally denied it but latley she has been diagnosed with it.  Any way, my question is, Im going to see a socal worker soon, she can forward me to a phyciatrist if she sees fit.  The appointment isnt untill the 20th.  Ive been feeling horrable latley but things change so fast, like a rollar coaster.  I could be feeling great and optomistic at the time of the appointment and when this happens, I cant remember what its like to be feeling down again.  Do you think I should keep a journal of how I feel from day to day untill then?
Hi!   I have bipolar, anxiety, OCD, and insomnia.  I think that keeping a journal is a good idea.  My psych doc suggested it to me and I did it for a little while, but I stopped just because of time management or I would just forget.  It helps a lot 2 write your feelings down and vent.  Also, I have a bad memory, so when I would go 2 the doctor there would be so much that I wanted to say, but I would forget.  Then I would come out of there wishing that i would have asked that question or brought up that concern.  I can't exactly remember what the therapist would have me write down daily, but it was basically something like this:  rate how my sleeping was, my different moods during the day(depressed, anxious, irritable..etc), any triggers that could have brought a mood change on.  Sorry can't really remember exactly.  But just basically an overall of how I felt on a day to day basis.  Any concerns, questions, or comments that you would like 2 share with the doc. I should take my own advice and keep a journal myself, it would probably help me....I think I will start again, thanks!!     GOOD LUCK :-)
