Memory issues

Hi all,
Just too stressed out ,forget to pay my bills on time and my phone was disconnected.I will have to wait on funds for a week so without a phone .

I have few apps that might keep me running.

Forget bills also and passwords too.

Docs say me too young for dementia.

Can past abuse /torture ,PTSD,nightmares and concussions cause my problem ,maybe.

Any suggestions so I keep my life better.

I am not too much technology savvy either.

Cilly,

Anxiety and stress have a definite effect on cognitive function/memory.

The brain can only handle so much at once...and anxiety can overwhelm...leaving things that aren't of immediately concern...off the desktop.

Making reminders for yourself...either with post it notes...or on one of those giant wall calenders are both good tools to help keep you on track.

Things will get better once you can get into see your doctor for ongoing management help...when your insurance is active again.

With encouragement my friend,

Good news about your insurance. Medical care is sooo expensive. Also on the spring cleaning. I've started it but not gotten very far. I am sorry about your struggles that are going on.

I have started putting everything into my phone calendar and set the reminder for 30 min. ahead, especially appointments. I can remember in the AM and still forget to go. Bills, yes. I think I've got it handled and feel good then I find out I didn't which adds even more anxiety the next time.

My therapist said that anxiety can cause a lot of what you typed about. She hasn't told me what to do about it yet as I've only seen her once. Some things she said surprised even me and I've researched quite a lot about anxiety.

My memory has been yucky for years. One Dr. told me that I didn't need to worry if I forget where I put my keys, what I was going into the room for, etc. It's not where you put the keys but what the keys are when you see them. That was several years ago so thoughts may have changed but I helped me to relax.

I hope you feel better.
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise.
