I am wondering if this only happens to me. Last night I awoke to strange feelings relating to acid and burping. But besides those problems I felt very warm. The air conditioning was on...I wasn't sweating - just felt my body heat on high. And then next I was cold and had the goose bumps. And one more problem compounding the situation was that I took my blood pressure and it was elevated. Has anyone had symptoms such as this because of GERD or other digestive disorders. I'd love to know. Thanks so much. This is HELL!

Do you normally have high blood pressure or do you think it is related to the gerd? Also, how high was it? Were you anxious?
Yes Hamie, I do have those problems, but I'm also perimenopausal. I also have anxiety every once in a while, specially when I am not feeling well and I don't have a decent explanation, so who knows? But yes, you've described my nightime episodes pretty well. I do breathing exercises and talk myself through it. I tell myself these are symptoms and that I am not going to suffer any more than I am suffering. Another thing that helps me sleep is to understand that the anxiety may be caused by the GERD. I had more of these episodes when the prescribed medication wasn't working for me, do if this repeats itself often, you may need to take another look at what you're taking.
