My first post

Hello Brynn,
I am new to computers so hoping you receive this post. I am so needing to connect with others who have chronic fatigue as well as other debilitating chronic illness. I have had CFIDS for over ten years as well as interstitial cystitis, and severe chemical and food sensitivities and intolerances. I  also have depression and anxiety disorder as a result of living with illness, am a single parent of now an adult handicapped child.and other challenging problems(financial).
I hope to receive support and understanding here that I do not get out there and to listen and learn .This is my first step. I have always resisted joining a support group for my illlnesses because I had some negative experiences in the past in another support group(not on-line). Thankyou for being here. Also, I call myself Wholebon(not Bonnie my given name ) because that is who I am so wanting to become). Take care.   Wholebon
Hi WholeBon, and WELCOME to HealingWell!
I like how you have taken as your name, the kind of person you wish to become.  And I would suggest that you may well have already attained some measure of wholeness.  If you are applying the concept to each part of your life, it seems to me that you're "there" (kind of a Zen perspective!).  Even if you're not terribly accomplished at it, each area of your life is still infused with that energy.  (if that makes sense)

I was first diagnosed about 12 years ago with CFS, and over the years FMS, MPS, IBS, IC, anxiety and depression.  Then there's sleep disorder, restless leg syndrome (RLS), environmental illness (EI) / multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS), PTSD and OCD that haven't been diagnosed by a Dr, but just that I've "self diagnosed".  And there are probably one or two that I've forgotten somewhere.  I've been on disability for 11 years, and my main symptom right now is pain--chronic pain.  (I also moderate the Chronic Pain message board.)

I have no children, but when I worked, it was with disabled children in the public school system.  So I have some kind of idea what it's like for you.  Between dealing with your illness and your child, do you find much motivation to pursue any hobbies?  Actually, moderating here and at my own website, is one of my hobbies.  I also enjoy reading and writing poetry, although my interest in it waxes and wanes.  Mostly I just take it one day at a time!

I think you will find HW to be a safe, warm and supportive place to explore your own healing journey.  While I'm here several days per week, as moderator, this CFS board has not been very active lately, although it wouldn't take more that a few committed members to get it going.  And you might also check out the Depression/Anxiety board, FMS, or others you might find. (look at a little below the top each page, and a little to the right, for a drop-down list of links to other boards, called "Forum Quick Jump"--just click on the name of a board you want to see, and you'll be taken to it)

Once again, welcome to HW and the CFS message board.  Please let me know if I can help you navigating through this website.  Feel free to post messages as you did here, and to reply to any that you find interesting.  Happy Holidays! and best wishes.
