Hello all,
Im new here and I just a had a question. I have been seeing a Neurologist and he performed an EEG, EMG, MRI, and a Doppler. All of them came back normal. I went yesterday for a follow up and was telling him about these strange feelings in my head. Not pain, but it feels like someone is pressing down on my brain or like there is a bubble in the very top of my head. The neurologist then said it is a migraine that there are 2 types one where your blood vessels are too wide, which are the very painful ones, and ones that arent that painful which are your blood vessels are too narrow. Has anyone had a neurologist tell them this. What tests are done to see if your vessels are too narrow. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Melani
Hi Melanie,
I sounds like your Neurologist has been quite thorough in checking you over. I am still learning about migraine even though I have had it for 30 years plus. I can only assume that he is right about the two types of migraine as I do not know of anything to the contrary. As for the tests they would do for that, my guess is that the tests that they have already done would be enough.
Sorry I cannot help you any further, maybe there will be others along that have more knowledge than I do. But as far as I know there is no specific medical test for migraine they do the MRI's etc to rule out anything sinister that would be causing the headaches. I believe diagnosis is usually made from the information that a patient gives.
Keep us posted as to how you get on, take care Ann.
