I was wondering if your mother knows of the abuse to you by your father? As I find it curious that she would fight for custody of you until she was bankrupt but then insist that you live with him. Mothers and daughters fight and argue that is just the way of it. But you have to try to communicate with her on how you are feeling and what is going on with you. By taking you to counselors and being on medications I am sure that she is aware that there is a problem. There are all kinds of counseling options open if there is an insurance or financial problem. Such as checking with the Samaritan Center, Division of Family Services has a list of low cost counseling centers. Also you can check with local churches they sometimes have counseling.
There are quite a few teens that have trouble in school and at home, they choose to go into the Job Corp. Where they can earn money and get their high school diploma while learning a job trade also. This also helps to remove them from a volatile situation at home.
In the end your life is up to you and what you make of it. You seem to be very intelligent and articulate. Lots of girls have to deal with the after effects of abuse and rape, I am one of them. You have to tell yourself that you will NOT BE A VICTIM anymore.

I also wanted to welcome you to the Healing Well forum. You'll find that there are a lot of caring and supportive folks on this site. Elisha provided you with some very good advice. And as Elisha mentioned in her post, mothers and daughters do fight, I've definetely been there. One suggestion that I'd like to add is - IF you have a family member or really close friend who you already spend a lot of time with and is familar with what's going on and who is also understanding and supportive, perhaps you could live with them until things level out at home. I've known a few people who have done this and it gave them the opportunity to finish high school while not having to deal with all the stress at home. One more thing, you may want to ask your family doctor if he/she could prescribe you a different med? It may have been that the one you've tried just wasn't right for you. Also, I completely agree with Elisha when she said that you sound very intelligent and articulate. It sounds like you're dealing with a lot right now, anyone going through what you have would be having trouble at school. So, hang in there and I hope that you find a solution that is right for you.
