Hi I'm new to the forum and am just looking for some moral support. I have been diagnosed with OA but none of my joints appear inflamed and rather than prolonged pain I suffer short sharp 'twinges' which last up to a minute subside and then reappear some time later in another joint. eg first a knuckle then later perhaps my knee and then maybe my elbow- is this typical? I've had this for some time but it has got worse this past 18 months?

I too have OA it's the pits.Hurt like crazy yet no swelling.I have it in all my joints.Right now my hands & low back hurt alot & with weather changes it's worse.I was 25 when first dx I'm 65 now & it sucks.I refuse pain meds as all they do is tear up my gut,so I just use Tylenol,It works pretty good for me.
I'm always after hubby to open something or other,but he does it.Poor thing.He has RA..............

Hi Des, Welcome to the Arthritis forum.

There are many members here with many different forms of Arthritis.read some of the old posts and you will see the variety. glad you decided to hang out with us for awhile.

Hi,sorry that you are not feeling well I know how you feel tho.I have crohns,RA,OA the Oa is in my lower spin and in my left hip and left knee and I do agree that with the cold weather comeing in it has been giveing mr H***.I see a new Rhuemy and I can't wait because I have been in some terrable pain and what I'am on for my arthritis is not helping any more so maybe this new Rhuemy will be able to come up with something better.

Meds that I'am on now is Sulfazine 500mg take two three times aday.
Mthotrexate 100cc once a week
Humira 40mg once a week
and Ocycodone 15mg as needed for pain
