I was at my doctors today and she took blood because she wanted to check my oxy levels?? She said this is standard for the amount of oxycontin I take (160 mgs a day) to see where my levels are at. Something about making sure I am not in danger for respitory distress. I have never had this done before...have any of you? Just curious if this is something that is normally done or is she checking up on me? I take my meds exactly how they are prescribed so I have nothing to worry about, just wondering...

Oxycontin, Flexeril as needed, Lopressor, Lexapro, Omeprazole, Clonazepam as needed, Promethazine as needed for nausea from migraines
It sounds to me that it could be a little of both. But they often check oxy levels to see if you are taking what you are suppose to be. Some people sell them I guess and it is a higher on the scale narcotic. But if you are taking like you are suppose to be you sure don't have anything to worry about. Though her other excuse could be true too. I do know that too much narcotics can cause resperatory problems. But either way, I am sure that you are fine. You are lucky to get such a good medication for your fibro. I take norco. It does help with the pain, but I still have pain.
Hope that you are having a good day.
