Problems with email notification?

I have been noticing a problem lately with the email alert that comes after someone posts a reply.  I get the alert, but their reply isn't there.  Sometimes, if I go in manually instead of through the alert, it shows, but most of the time not.  This is soooooo frustrating!  Sometimes it doesn't even show up the rest of the day!  mad   What is going on?   Am I the only one who has this problem?
What are ya talkin about sweetie?

Hi, Nickie!

You know, when you have answered a thread and someone posts a reply, how the system automatically emails you so you can read it?

Well, I get all the notifcations, but most of the time, the new reply isn't there.  It just depends.  It's driving me crazy, because I got 3 alerts this afternoon that you responded to three threads, and I couldn't get yours to show up.  Only the last person to post before you, like yesterday's.  I just hate it.  I feel like if others had this problem, they would have said something by now?  I can't stand it anymore.

BTW, how are you today?  :-)

Oh, it also doesn't show my posts till way later after I post them.

My thread about this problem doesn't even show up on the list!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  The only way I could answer your question, was it just happened to show up on the email alert.  But if I don't go through that alert, the thread doesn't exist.  I feel like something is trying to make me crazy.

New posts sometimes won't show up right away in the forum list for performance and caching reasons.  Also if your browser is set to cache web pages, sometimes you won't see the updated listing either.

The only reason you would get an alert and it no longer existed was if someone deleted it before you viewed it. This happens more than some may think.

You can turn off email notifications in the Control Panel on the Edit Email Subscriptions tab.
