Hey Heidi just curious to know how you know how bad it is going to be for the season. My daughter in law is stationed at camp Legune North Carolina and she lives out the back gate in a trailer court with my granddaugter and her sister. I worry about them. Last year we went out in August and missed one storm and then one came through right after we left. My son called us right away on his cell phone to let us know that they were all ok. They only live about half a mile from the ocean. My son is in Iraq right now so I'll probably worry even more about her and the baby. Look forward to hearing from you on this. Barb

I am in a class at the Emergency Operweations Center (EOC) to become a Jacksonville Community Emergency Response team (JAX CERT) to help out fire and rescue personell during any type of emergiences man made or natural and we had a man from FEMA and a weather man come and talk with us. they also told us it goes in cycles and wasnot this bad 40 years ago. we also live in a double wide manfactured home too 65 miles away fropm the coast I amnot scared about the storm surge more about the hurricanes. BUt it can change and if you are in the cone get redy despite what way they are projecting it can change course. That is all I nkow Barb I am studying to help out JFRD and someone from FEMA and weather man told us this. When i hear more I'll ost more if that is ok with our moderator here.

been having a rough 4 days with my GERD. well, i hope that is what it is, never thought i'd say that! it doesn't feel like heart, really, although my chest is heavy-ish and sore. but i'm belching a lot (glad you can't hear me!), so i can't think that it's heart. i've taken every pill in my little ole GERD repertoire and still no relief. it sorta comes and goes by the hour, which also makes me think it's not heart. if it was heart my cardio guy said it would be steady. anyway, it's been a very tough 4 days. i talked to my gastro guy who told me to load up on the meds and call him in a week if i wasn't better. sigh.
i'm thinking of going to mayo for all this, that is my heart AND my gastro probs. i want a team. i don't want to run around town from doc to doc getting various opinions. i've been reading how much trouble everyone seems to have with that (on this forum). that we go to different docs, they give completely different opinions and we're left to make a decision by ourselves. i know i was telling someone on this forum how aggressive (i prefer assertive!) you have to be in your own medical care. i know at mayo they embrace the "team decision" philosophy, and they say "1 opinion is good, 2 is better, a team is the best." i agree with that! i suppose if it did nothing but ease my mind it would be worth it. but i'd like to hear what others think about this, particularly those of you who i've been chatting with so much, the barbs, teri, ray, hey what happened to lisarose?, but anyone else that has some input, i find this one of the most valuable places to help me keep my sanity about all this...

Libby please call your doctor on Monday soon as they open and want an apoontment asap. it might be your GERD acting up or signs of an impending heart attacak and only you doctor nows for sure. please donot wait around for answers ok friend.
And for the team approach go fo it. i di last year and feel better allready with my heart lung thyroid and then my regular doctor all working in one. I see my heart and thyroid doctor every 6 months now and my lung 1ce a year yipe on that and for my general doctor for my female exams and any other time I have a problem she even refilled my medicine for 1 refills which i am happy about. but please go to your regular doctor or call MAYO and get yur appoinment soon ok. Please kep us informed.
It was too hot to do fence so we re cleaning up the front of our double wide Stanley is doing that and I am fixing the slats on our porch so dogs cannot get uit and I slipped and cut myself on the skirting a slight cut but up to date on tetnus and dctored it was it. but 84 right nw and up in 90's in the Sun. OH please send cool weather on JUne 18th the day of our drill.

hi heidi,
thanks for your input and thoughts on my chest pain. i'm really guessing it's not cardio as 1) it only seems to happen after i eat and 2) i don't have any exertional pain. that is, i can walk and not hurt or get short of breath. the chest pain is really bad though. i felt fine when i got up, then i ate my bowl of oatmeal and wham, chest pain. have taken all GERD stuff and it's not gone, but this has been my pattern. i WILL call my doc(s) in the morning though!
i sure would like to head to mayo asap. i'm going to call them on monday ayem too and see how quickly they can get me in - boy what a big step and a big trip from little ole texas!

Libby What part of Texas I lived in Kingsville and went to King High School was a cheerleader their and lived on Santa Gertrudis Blvd right across from the King Ranch and 7 houses down from the main entrance. i always tell people san Antino has the most beautiful river walk.
What Mayo would it be we got one here in Fla too nad I have the e-mail of a lady who works their too. and Mayo up North too.
I do hope yuo get into Mayo soon too will say a prayer.

Libby, I'm so glad to hear from you, I was worried. Now I'm glad you are here, but still worried!
You've already had your gallbladder removed right? You have a history of GERD? You've already seen your Dr.? I'm just concerned that it's being chalked off to GERD. I'd hope they'd run some tests on you to even see what's happening. Perhaps a barium swallow, it's not as long as an upper GI? Even a few heart tests to make sure it's not your heart. Women are funny in that way and can show up with gallbladder pain and it ending up being their hearts!! Please just get this checked out quickly!! And let us know what's going on with you, okay?!

thanks for all your thoughts, both/all of you! i know that sometimes heart and
gut stuff can have such similar symptoms and i've been pretty worried too. except
that just about all my symptoms seem to point to gut and not heart. but i'm going
to call both docs in the morning and be my nice, pleasant little ole assertive self
and see what i can get done.
teri, yup, i've had my gallbladder out. in a way i'm glad as that's just one less organ
to cause trouble! hoho. although the having it out part didn't go so hot, lots of scar
tissue/adhesion probs. natcherly -
i'm also going to call mayo. heidi, i would be so appreciative of any contact name
you might have there - i'm going to the one in rochester (i hope!). we'll see what
they say when i call.
heidi, i'm in fort worth. i know all about king ranch, i USED to make that great king
ranch casserole alot, but of course now it's not on the "food pattern" list anymore!
boy, you're a long way from home there in florida! where are you? i have a sorta
kinda relative in pensacola that runs a beautiful B&B.
teri, you have had me worried. i was just telling my partner darren that you had sorta
disappeared over the weekend and how much i loved my forum, and that was one of
the reasons - that we all seem to sorta keep tabs on each other! so i'm glad you were

Libby, they've decided after all my tests that the right side of the brain is 'irritated' (me, too) :) and is sending out wrong electrical signals from where I had my stroke back in Aug. So it's causing me to have seizures and migraines, and if I don't take med.'s to get this under control, it could cause another stroke. So the Dr.'s nurse is calling me tomorrow to set up an appt. as the Dr. wants to explain it better to me. Now that's scary-explain more?? I'm saturated with good news. lol
So this morning had another seizure/migraine and then this afternoon had angina. So I'm so tired right now, I have to ask myself why I'm still up?! :)
I really hope they get to the bottom of your troubles and you can get that taken care of soon!!-don't stay away so long-I missed ya!

seizure/migraine AND angina, all in one day? teri - sounds like
we need to go hand in hand to our docs. i'm glad you have
an appointment to get "more explanation" - whatever that
means! how do you deal with your angina? nitro? i thought
i remember you said you wore a nitro patch? anyway, geez,
now i'm as concerned about your as i am about me - for
what that's worth. i hope that you can get some answers
tomorrow too -
sometimes i feel like bonking my head against a nice wall
and maybe something will pop in my head and i will figure
out the perfect solution to all this and find some strong
direction, about what the very best thing is to do. or at
least the very best first thing?
i'll be thinking of you tomorrow and hope we can forum/chat
tomorrow night and both have some direction/answers.

LIbby I live in Jacksonville far west side of it though near Baldwin, maclenny etc... I lived in 16 differnt states for dad was in the army.
Teri hand is better now but I done gun and done it we washed our double wide instead of fixin the fence then today went over to mow Byrons yard so tall and thinck in the back hubby came home and got riding lawn mower to do it now it neds a new blade. 
no thnakyou etc $10 for gas to mow., he works during the day time does side jobs after 5 pom then goes skin diving, movies, theme parks and shows on the wekend and lets his place go to pot and gets fines etc... Now he still hasnot turned in the paperwork for his divorce yet either he is going on 26 he can make my dyed blonde hair turn gray but now I am haveing upper back aches and took a nitro and will take it easy rest of the day for I donot nned my agina acting up adn Stanley told me we wilnot mow his yard anymore after this he can do it. we'll see. But i am doing ok just aching in my upper shulders and neck region.
