"Chatting" For Hearts

Libby, I'm in Central Tx. ~it's been our usual start of the heat and drought days. lol We had a fair here locally, and I heard the flight for life came and left 3 times-I'm sure it was due to the heat. Just standing out there, a person could have sweat to death! I didn't go as I knew I wouldn't have handled it well. My daughter went~had loads of fun, got the guitar pic from one of the band members that was there. lol (We know the Mom). :) My son's semi-pro softball team came in 2nd place and he got the award for home run champion, plus made 'All Tournament Team'-so he was pretty happy, sweating and all! :) My littlest bird is leaving tomorrow for the pet store. I hate parting with any of them, but I have 4 more to pull from the nest this week and start feeding, so it's for the best...I really don't have enough room either. lol
What animals do you have again? We have the birds (cockatiels) 2 dogs, Samantha (Sam) a golden retriever, and Shellie, my daughter's flat coated Lab mix from the local pound, along with a 75 gal. fish tank. Hugs, Teri :)

Hey Libby, have they checked your galbladder. I was very sick like you and they kept thinking it was the acid reflux for 3 months I couldn't hardly eat or even drink anything including water it was so bad. They finally found the problem when the did a scan thing while putting something in my vein to make the galbladder work. I didn't have stones and that was why they found nothing with the ultra sound. It was pushing gal up into my stomach and causeing heartburn feeling constantly 24 hours a day and pain. Nothing worked that they tried until they pulled the little bugger out. Surgeon said he never saw one so bad and it hadn't functioned right for years. Barb

hi my ladies!

thanks for all your thoughts.  yup, i've had gallbladder out.

the burning and pain was so bad last night (11 p.m. - 3 a.m.) i thought i was ER-bound, but i took all the drugs in my arsenal, got good and stoned and felt better and read until 4:30 then slept on and off 'til nearly noon.  i've waked up with the usual burning.  even water doesn't seem to help or go down well.  sigh.  i need to make it FOUR MORE DAYS!  today, tuesday, wednesday, thursday, then friday a.m. is my test.  i'm not sure how i'm going to last that long if this doesn't let up.  i just stopped my plavix this weekend, which is the whole reason they won't do the test before.  any thoughts anyone has, i am QUITE open to hearing them!

meanwhile, hope you all are having a good monday.  yes, teri, you're right, it's nice to hear from everyone on a monday morning!  i'm just glad to be home at my computer...

Hi Teri, I am feeling so tired and I have to use my O2 more for the spastic artery and I can't seem to get any energy even if I sleep for 8 hrs. They say I can't have the surgery until I am older but I want to know if anyone has had an artery replaced or angio on it at my age and it wasn't necessary again within 10 yrs. I am soon to be 57 in July. Would it be advised to go with the surgery and if Dr is not in favor of it find another cardio Dr.
Hi jacton!! :)

Your arteries are spasming so it's difficult to get oxygen through to the heart when that happens as you know! That's why you need the O2 more of course.

When you say an artery replaced? I've had a triple bypass and they replaced 3 of main coronary arteries, but it's only because they were blocked. One about 100%. I was 52 when that was done in Aug. and I'm now 53, jacton. So we're close in age. I remember, I think asking you this already, but I don't remember your answer. Do you smoke?? If you do and your arteries are not blocked, but spasming, they wouldn't want to do a bypass. That's a serious surgery used only as a last resort. Are you using nitrates and other med.'s like Beta Blockers, or Calcium Channel blockers to help keep the arteries from spasming and keep them widened? Let me know, okay?? Hugs, Teri :)

hi teri,
i have my "manageable" days and unmanageable.  today was
close to unmanageable.  i'm on all kinds of good stoney-things
right now to hold it down to a dull roar (the pain, that is).
i'm at 2 days and counting (for my friday test).
and you?
libby
Libby, you've made it this far, I hope you get through the next couple of days!! :) My best wishes for that!! Remember have D. post for you if he would in case they keep you! I brought the little cockatiel (all yellow) into the pet store where I volunteer the other day...every time I walked by him, he tweeted at me-heartbreaking! But I just can't keep them all. I pulled 2 of the 4 that are in the nest now and just started hand feeding them tonight. :) The other 2 were born almost 5 days after these, so I'll wait to pull them. They are just the sweetest little things...I've been having this really terrible thirst and have been drinking water like crazy lately, in particular today...I looked up my new inhalor and it says it can cause this, plus I have Diabetes. Golly, I'm really getting tired of going to see Dr.'s. Really, I am! I can't even see the pulmonologist that put me on the stuff, and I don't have enough, so I'll be going off it anyway, figured tonight was as good as any. He doesn't accept any of my insurance and we carry 2 of them!! Tricare is a standard around this area, we live by an Army base and Mark is retired Army, but this guy won't accept Tricare-go figure. The other one he does accept but I have to pay 30% and at his prices-I'll be selling our home soon!! You know that is ridiculous. But that's a whole new gripe! lol As Ray says, DGMS (don't get me started!) haha

Libby, I'll be hoping you can get through the next couple of days safely and without too much pain!! Did your Dr. even give you a hint at what he thought this was? Have you had an endoscopy before and gotten checked for GERD and Barrett's? I'm rambling now :) ...but I have both and I was told a year ago that I had mild dysplasia as well. So I was very scared about having cancer and when they did my endoscopy this year?-the dysplasia was gone!-Kaput! So I hope it's something that they can just adjust your med.'s?, or hurry up and fix whatever's wrong! You've got my email, and you can email me anytime you'd like!!

Hugs, Teri :)

hi teri,

you know, no, i don't believe i do have your email.  how might i obtain that?  don't wish to abuse, but would like some more private chats on occasion.  especially since you keep dropping all kinds of hints that only another texan would understand about where you live!  i feel i'm putting the pieces of a puzzle together!  not snooping, just guessing...

nope, doc has given me no hint.  i keep thinking barrett's too.  what is dysplasia?  right this very minute i have been having little stabs of chest pain.  i have had them on and off all day.  i would be headed to the ER but these are nothing new to me and i THINK they are gastro-related.  i believe if they were heart probs they would stab and stick around.  mostly they stab and then fade for a bit, then they stab again.  i've had a most miserable afternoon and evening, unfortunately.  i took a half xanax at 7, a half pain pill at 9, a half ambien 30 minutes ago, my usually cocktail that helps and so far nothing.  i guess if i don't get any relief here in the next few hours i better be ER-bound.  dernit, dernit, dernit!  i want so much to hold out 'til friday, but also don't want to be an idjit about things.   deep breaths are not hurting, so that tells me more it's not heart.  teri, i want so much to have the test on friday in dallas.  that's 2 more days.  i'm trying to remember that last week i didn't think i'd make it one more day with my pain and here i am.  the new pain meds made me sick first go-round, not sick the second go-round, sick tonight.  but they make me sick and when that initial nausea stops so does the pain.  hmmm....wish it didn't make me sick so i could take a big heaping dose!  i'm rambling.  i'm up trying to distract myself.  i find computer work sometimes does that for me.

tell me more about your little birds!  i think i've told you i have only one dog, being a condo dweller i don't feel it's fair to the doggies to have no yard and not much activity.  i wish when i got this one that i had got two, as he gets so lonely.  now he's nearly 12 and crabby and spoiled and doesn't like other dogs so it's too late to remedy.  he is my dear little fellow though.  i LOVE dogs.  i would have a dozen if i had a big yard!  in another life...i would have been a dog breeder or kennel owner of some kind.  i'm mad about animals and dogs in particular.  i'm a teacher by trade, but in retrospect wish i would have gone the vet school route instead.  how did you get so into birds?  my dad (who died 20+ years ago at 62 from heart disease) LOVED birds.  my dad had a beautiful singing and whistling voice and could whistle so many bird tunes and they would actually come closer to see what was what.  i have a picture of my dad and a bird, in the mountains, a foot or two away from each other, just raptly looking each other in the eyes!  my dad was an air force pilot, so i say if there's any such thing as reincarnation then my dad has come back as a bird - thereby satisfying his two greatest loves in life:  flying and singing!

enough rambling, your turn.  and thanks for reading and bearing with me during this tough evening.  you are a real friend, my teri.

libby

to post one additional strange item tonight:

is anyone else on ambien?  i keep thinking it's my imagination, but i take one every couple of nights, and about 20 minutes after i take it - that's the best i've felt all day!  i wish i could take it during the day, but it eventually does it's trick and makes me sleep.  just wondered if anyone else has experienced this wonderful "side effect."  sometimes i can be in the worse pain, and the ambien just helps ease it.  i'm sure that's the drugs relaxing properties, not much magic there, but i wish oh how i wish there was a daytime ambien!

Libby, I beat you to bed one night this week! :) I just pulled the 2-2 week old babies and the other two will be out of the nest by next week. So since I have to feed them early and every 4 hours except at night, I really like to go to bed a bit earlier than the norm for
me. :)

You can get my email by clicking on my name here and it takes you to my bio page, which shows my email. :) I did send you some email, but I guess that went to where you work?-and since you are home-bound now...

BTW the Ambien your taking is a hypnotic and a sedative used for sleeping, it causes you to relax first then sleep. That's probably why the oooooh so relaxed and feeling good state. :)

Hugs, Teri :)

PS Please don't sit this out if you're in that much pain, okay?!

(I can't spell again. lol)

All this talk about sleep is making me tired. I had to work last night and all day today. Got a nap in at work though. 2hours and 20min to go until I can go home a crash for a few hours at least until we go out with friends. So busy getting ready for camping and then my daughters graduation next Thursday. I also get my scope done next Thursday at 12 noon. Hope it's nothing too bad. Talk to you all later maybe if time permits. Barb
Barb!! It's always great to hear from you! I sure wish you didn't have to work so hard-the stress alone must be exhausting! Do you use a tent to camp, or one of those pop-up campers? So many people sure like to camp now a days! I used to camp about 30 years ago in a tent! lol and Now if I'd go camping I'd like one of those "It's an RV, Clark"! :)
You know I'm sending you my best, Barb, and wishing that all your results are the best as well with your scope!! Your schedule seems like it could be overwhelming next week, so please take care.

Big Hugs, Teri :)
