"Chatting" For Hearts

Libbbbbbby, you are home!!! I'm so happy to hear that~I missed you and was worried about you! I'm happy to hear that the cardio stuff (so far) is good, but sorry you have to wait til next week for the rest!-of course you know why?-the internal bleeding?

We'll all just hope that the pain med.'s will help at least to make it tolerable!

Keep us updated, okay?? Big Hugs, Teri :)

Hi All! Re my med.'s and migraines...they actually do not know what has caused these migraines to start up so suddenly and that there could be seizures included as well...that's why the new med. as it takes care of both! 2 for 1 lol They say all the tests show that it's all coming from the right side where the stroke occurred, but it's not conclusive enough to say the stroke started it all. I guess it really doesn't matter at this point, just so the med. works-right?! :) Hugs, Teri

Hey BC that is the beauty of dogs they don't talk back unlike children. That's what makes them such great listeners. I love my little dog and have grown to love my daughters big ole pup. He can be a real pain. Have to keep an eye on him at all times. Last night he was quiet so went to check and he was chewing up the hair roller we use to remove all his hair from our clothes. I took it hit him with it more like a tap and told him he was bad and he just tilted his head and looked stupid at me. They are funny creatures. What kind do you have? Barb
I just wanted to check in and say "hi."

I'm sorry to hear about the problems people are having...but I think I might actually be going in the opposite direction.

For the last two weeks, I've started to feel somewhat human...aside from allergies from hell. I don't have that constant "flu-like" feeling like I did from the end of January thru most of April. A couple of things have changed that may relate to that. First, it's spring. I've been able to get out in the sun and air and actually DO some things. That's helped my morale a whole lot. Second, I guess I'm retired now. At least I haven't worked since April 27th. The disability retirement benefits thing still hasn't been resolved but it's moving slowly forward. Finally, my medications have changed completely from what I was taking a few months ago.

I had been taking Toprol and Zocor...and that was pretty much it as far as the heart and cholesterol medications. Now I'm on Cozaar and Coreg, Vytorin, Niaspan and Imdur. I've gotten to where I can tolerate the Niaspan twice a day (500mg each time) with no more flushing than I might feel from a mild sunburn. And it doesn't last more than 15 minutes.

I've gone from taking 5-8 nitro tabs a day to zero or one. The Imdur really helps in that respect.

So with the removal of workplace stress, new meds and the ability to get out and do some stuff in the sun, I feel better than I have in quite some time. I still have the fatigue and SOB issues, but I figger they're gonna be with me for the rest of my life...so I just work around 'em. Besides...I had SOB issues at my job...but that wasn't shortness of breath...it was the other kind. :)

I hope good news from me is good news for others.

Afterwards, the universe will explode for your pleasure. - Douglas Adams

Good Sunday to yuo all too relaxing and putting stuff in my joy book. the preacher today  Dr Vines read this and it is so cute I copied it as he read it and put it in my jopy book and oh so true too. HOWDY PARDNER

A dog had followed his owner to school His owner was a fourth grader at a public elemntary school.

However

when the bell rang the dog sidled inside the building and made it all the way to the child's class room before a teacher noticed and shooed him outside, closing the door behind him.

The dog sat down and whimpered and stared at the closed doors, the GOD appearedd beside the dog, petted his head, and said," Don't feel bad fella'... they won't LET ME in either"

so true I am really praying for all ur graduating classes that are public they can pray at the graduation services and no one will hit high C.

hi all,

ray:  how wonderful that you are feeling so much better!  boy, it takes a few times of feeling lousy to really make you appreciate the good times, doesn't it?  i am not familiar with all the drugs you are on, except the niaspan and the vytorin.  i couldn't tolerate the vytorin.  what are: imdur, coreg and cozaar?  i'm not familiar with those.  i'm always open to hearing about other options with drugs!  glad you are tolerating the niacin (niaspan) better.  i had one heckuva hot flush from mine last night, nice and toasty, but as you say, for only about 15-20 minutes so i try to keep that in mind and my face "prickles" away -

i'm continuing to have tons of troubles with what i hope is my gut.  i haven't really eaten anything solid now in so long.  i'm trying applesauce a bit and also a little banana and trying to drink ensure, but even that is bothering me.  i MUST hold out 'til next friday.  i keep thinking if i can hold out 'til wednesday, then the next day will be thursday and then MAYBE they'd admit me.  i never thought i'd want to be admitted and have an IV, and i've always avoided the ER the best i can.  so i am one sickly child.

AND to add insult to injury it's about 100 degrees here in texas again today, breaking all kinds of records.  that's OK, i'm enjoying watching the world from my bedroom window and my friend darren bought me some good mags to occupy my mind.

i hope the rest of you are all well!

libby

Libby, I can't believe you are in this much discomfort and the pills are not helping you?! I would suggest calling the Dr. again!! There has to be something that they can give you for the pain to help you relax.

Best wishes, always!! Hugs, Teri :)

teri,
they did give me something for pain but it made me so
nauseous.  it almost was not worth it.  when i asked for
something else, he said all the narcotics would make me
feel like that right now, since i'm not eating.
lesser of two evils?!
libby
Awwww, Libby, this is just a shame! Not eating and in pain? I wish I could offer you some help here-have you tried soda crackers and the uncola? Fruit by itself can upset your stomach as well. What about a small dish of mashed potatoes, or rice? Puddings, jello? Even a slice of cheese? If my stomach was empty and angry with me, it wouldn't be very nice to me if I ate bananas and applesauce either...of course that's my body. Even a popsicle? You need to stay hydrated.

(((Libby))) Hugs, Teri :)

hi teri,

all those things sound SO good!  my problem:  it seems no matter
WHAT goes in it hurts.  i mean water is uncomfortable.  but not
to worry about hydration, i'm drinking tons of water, and trying
the ensure although it's upsetting me too.  i keep seeing commercials
with hamburgers, etc and i'm just salivating!  can't wait for that
endoscopy on friday.

what's up with you this week?  what part of tejas are you in, if
you don't mind saying (central, panhandle, hill country, etc.)?
it is supposed to stay unseasonably horribly hot here in the fort
for a few more days, ugh - feels like august!

i hope you've had a good, decent-feeling weekend.  how are all
the little animals/pets in your life?  mine brings me so much joy!
