Refluxstop and endostim the journey goes on

sadly had Endostim removed because of no more batteries or active company. What a great pity, it had worked so well for so long for severe gord. No regrets about having got it implanted, but now it’s back to the drawing board as the reflux is coming back again…

Swallowing issues it means fundo’s, nissens and wraps are out, and ppi’s aren’t tolerated but now, have read about a gadget called Refluxstop, in the UK. but I am unclear if one can still get this (new-ish) treatment on the NHS or not, or if Refluxstop has been abandoned by the NHS. Does anyone know either way? If it is still on the NHS then that’s the road I need to get on..

RefluxStop has not been abandoned. Think the guidelines right now is that RefluxStop applies for those that has IEM (guidelines from NICE). The company behind RefluxStop, Implantica, has not focused so much on rolling it out in NHS, since the NICE guidelines came, as they have fully focused for almost a year on getting RefluxStop approved in the US. FDA approved it on 20th of August, so probably they can now return its focus on training surgeons etc. in the UK so it can be more widely available for IEM patients.
