So after his second infusion my son got really constipated. He doesn’t want to use laxatives because that will have him running to the bathroom. What is a mild laxative that he could use?
have him drink a few cups hot peppermint tea (or even hot water). that usually gets me moving in an hour or two.

about 7 days after my remicade infusion I get slightly constipated for a day or 2. I use mirilax and it’s really easy to tolerate and only loosens stool slightly. I only need to use it for 3-4 days and I’ve never had diarrhea with it. I used to take it daily for hemorrhoids for months under the direction of my doctor.

Humira used to get me constipated about a week after the shots. I used slippery elm - 1tsp mixed with warm water before bed and helped a lot.

I got my first inflectra infusion yesterday (remicade biosimilar) and I feel constipated today. My stool is very well formed, but also harder, probably because I have been eating a low-fiber diet to give my colon a rest. This brings me to another thought on this topic: have your son also adjust his diet -- more fiber and more water. As the meds start to work, things move slower and stool becomes formed, and we need to make sure we are eating enough fiber and drinking enough water to properly move formed stool through our system, as opposed to doing what we do when we have the big D.
