I was just reading some information about Remicade's adverse effects online. It mentioned if having grey colored stools to tell the doctor. Gulp....I do have grey colored stools but thought nothing of it. Anyone else on Remicade notice this? I also have very loose stools, they are formed but mushy with some blood. I am back on prednisone at the advice of my doctor. I see him tomorrow. Better make up a list.
Diagnosed with ulcerative proctitis in 1998 in hospital
Hospitalized (2nd time) in May 2008 for ten days.
Remission Nov 08 thru May of 09.
Flare May of 09 thru Aug of 09. Very short remission. Flared again Nov 1st. First infusion of Remicade Nov 18th. Taken off the 6MP, still on Colazal, 30 mgm of prednisone, cort suppository every other night. Calcium, probiotic, vitamin with iron, benicar for high blood pressure. Flaxseed oil capsule. Great improvement with first Remi infusion...hope and pray it continues. Ambien CR for sleep.

Food sensitivity test by Naturopath showed wheat/gluten, other intolerances, helped some.

Never had any grey stools. It's a good thing you're seeing the doctor to put your mind at ease. I wouldn't worry until then ... and pred sucks. Diagnosed '93.
Remicade is the only drug that had helped my up until now. I had an iv infusion a couple of weeks ago, and it isn't managing it, so I am going to get another one. I have no idea if getting them so close together is good, or bad. I don't really think my Doc even thinks about it to be honest. He just gives em and if something happens then we take care of it then. I will tell you though. I will take a day with out pain! If the Remicade works then I will do it. My stools have been every color under the sun. Just get your LFT's checked in your blood work. And keep on top of that. Good luck.
Off to the GI's office in about five minutes. I wrote down a load of quetions for him. Last month I didn't have any questions and was as happy as a lark as I thought the Remicade helped me into remission. Noticed today that my stools were more brown, not gray..whew and NO BLOOD!! Yippee!! I still have some urgency but can manage to make it to the bathroom. The pressure is there too. Guess the prednisone has kicked in. Jodrilla...I have no idea whether it is good to have Remicade infusions so close together or not. I am not scheduled until the 26th of February for my next infusion. Even at that date I am kind of concerned due to the fact I got so sick two days after my 3rd infusion....chills, diarrhea, nausea, fever of 101. It only lasted a day, so not sure whether it was due to a virus or the Remicade. I would think if it was the Remicade it would have lasted longer than 24 hrs. Oh well, hope he can enlighten me on the questions I have for him.
