I'm from the Crohn's forum and have just started reading here. I had a colectomy/illeostomy in October and DR says I'm ready for the reversal. I had a scope Thursday and he says things look good. Being that I was a little loopy Thursday, I didn't have an opportunity to ask questions. Maybe some of you guys could answer some for me. Pain was minimal in October and DR says should be the same...Fact or fiction? He also stated that heal time and hospital stay should be the same as well...F/F? I had the 1st surgery on a Friday and walked out of the hospital on Tuesday afternoon. I am concerned about BM's after the reversal. I'm very happy that I no longer have to worry about crapping in my pants right now. How much change should I expect after the sugery? average BM's per day etc?
Last question!! Have any of you had your belly button cut out during the surgeries? They asked me this prior to the first and I thought they were joking. I said to let it stay, but I wish I had gone ahead with the removal. If I ever have an ostomy again, I think it would seal better and last longer if the dip from my BB wasn't there. Any thoughts on this???

The pain as far as insicision will be the same.rectum pain is more, I was scared to poop. It takes a little while.My butt hurt!Hospital stay should be the same as before. Bm a day minimal,at first, it will regulate.As for the belly, they cut right down the middle, did'nt take anything out???? Good luck, keep me posted!!!
