You're in my thoughts.

P.S. I suppose as a last resort you could emigrate to over here! ;)
Hi ya Jules, Going through the process of getting disability is most likely one of the most frustrating and longest processes you will ever face. The system we have in my opinion, forces people into further debt with creditors and medical expenses even though they have all the proper documentation needed to show that they qualify for disability, they continue to deny forcing the claim into the appeal process which takes forever. If your husband has been turned down twice and you had to retain an attorney for the appeal process then the claim is submitted to an ALJ (administrative law judge) for review. They will decide if your husband’s disability is severe enough to push the claim through without going to court. If you have to go to court it can take up to another year of waiting. Hopefully, it won’t come to that.
I went though all this myself not too long ago; I have MS and have been diagnosed for 5 years. Last year in august I got real sick with low blood pressure and heart rate with sick sinus syndrome, which I had to get a pacemaker for. I had to quit my job in Sept. and filed for disability then, was denied twice also even though I had 4 specialists stating I could not work with my condition. In January of this year I was diagnosed with MSA (multiple system atrophy), which is a Parkinson’s like disease. It is what has caused the low blood pressures and my heart rate to become so low. I too had to get a lawyer to do an appeal for my claim and my disability just went through in June. The ALJ determined that I was severely disabled under the law and no court date was necessary. It was about 4 months that the judge had my claim before they made a decision.
