does anyone know how long it takes for sulfasalazine to work...its been 4 days. I'm not being very patient

most likely longer, and depending on your current condition. 4 pills a day is like the minimum dose, I was on 8 and could taper down to 4 for maintenance if everything was good, and I'd go back up to 8 if any thing felt off.

well I have to say it took 7 days for those pills to
kick in.... I'm feeling much better already... sometimes feels a little urgency to go... but it passes and I'm fine..... I have 1 maybe 2 bms a day... and I have experience a few headaches....

the headaches should go away ... when I first started on the sulfasalazine, I got them too. It took about a week for the 2-3 times a day headaches to go away (that is how often I got them) and then another week to taper to 3-4 a week and in week 3, I stopped having the headaches.
A good side effect of the sulfasalazine is that my joint aches from my UC were greatly reduced! gotta love that!
4 Sulfasalazine a day
melasamine enemas (2x a week or as needed)
Fiber supplements (as needed)
probiotics - 2 capsules a day (each 40 billion count)
vitamin D-3 supplements
Fish oil capsules
Citrical calcium supplements
A good side effect of the sulfasalazine is that my joint aches from my UC were greatly reduced! gotta love that!
