hello everyone and how are you all doing today. hope that everyone is having a good day or as good as can be. well tomorrow is surgery day.
having another pain pump put in. this time i don't believe i'll have any issues like last time. still have my positive attitude that helps keep me going. arrival time for me is 5:30am and the surgery is set for 7:30.
anyway thought i would stop by and say hello and let you all know what is happening. not sure if i will be inpatient or outpatient yet. last time
i got a spinal headache that lasted 6 days before i finally went to the E.R.. well time will tell. ok well i wish everyone a pleasant evening and

basil cell melanoma, treated with surgery.
pain pump surgery-11-26-2013
pain meds, -morphine 60mgs every 12 hours..oxycodone 30mgs every 6 hrs.
flexeril 15mgs x (3) motrin 800mgs as needed/ nuerontin 2400mgs daily
Just wanted to say that I hope your surgery goes well tomorrow!! Will say a prayer for you and for a recovery with no problems/complications. Take care of yourself and make sure you call the doc/surgeon if you have problems afterward. Do not wait so long and suffer so long before reaching out for help!! Be sure that you know what you can expect to feel after surgery and things like: problems to watch for, how much activity, etc. that you should/shouldn't be doing, and who to contact if problems come up. (Even ask who to call if it's after normal office hours or on a weekend.)
Ok, enough of telling you what to do--I'm sure you know all that stuff already anyway!! Just hoping you can avoid some more pain and suffering this time. Good luck tomorrow and let us know how it goes!!

Good luck with your surgery! Just wondering did your doctor have you wash with Hibiclens for a week before your surgery? Just curious as I had to scrub my abdomen and back area every day for at least five days before they did my implant! Still had problems but the antibiotics took care of it.

hi there everyone. well the surgery went good. didn't have to say overnight or anything. they filled the pump with saline for the time being. in two weeks i havean appt.with my pm to fill the pump. it will be morphine like the last time. works for me since it helped before. do have one concern though. now i have the normal aches and pains that go with surgery in the insision areas but something new is my shoulders. feeling quite painful both left and right side.
my wife thinks it might be gas bubbles from the surgery and i'm thinking it might be how i was ositioned on the table. anyone experienced pain in thier shoulders following surgerys. not really sure what would cause this. thanks in advance for any ideas...

I would go with your wife's opinion so move as much as you can without hurting yourself. Best wishes!

Knee and foot surgery
Cataract surgery x2. Felt that I was looking through water post-op. Told it is floaters. I disagree. Very irritating, worse in bright light.
Breast cancer, mastectomy & tram flap reconstruction
