Tigecycline nausea

I don’t remember throwing up the last time I had tigecycline years ago. I remember hating it though. Sadly over a decade later I was not lucky enough to avoid throwing up. Hoping my body adjust and I don’t throw up every time I infuse this med. I can’t decide whether it!s a side effect or herx. Internet seems to think nausea at 4hr mark is side effect. I keep wondering if all the awful things I’m feeling are a herx, does that mean those symptoms will be improved after the herx wears off? Or maybe my mind is just grasping at a nonexistent silver lining. I don’t suppose any of you hoped for a bad herx as a sign you’d get much better?

It could be a herx. Bartonella herx often gave me stomach cramps and particularly foul-smelling diarrhea. This can go on for months, it took me quite a while to eliminate bartonella.

Assuming you are treating bartonella, I am wondering why you are using tigecycline? Bartonella can be resistant to certain antibiotics, but I was able to use other tetracyclines. A combination of minocycline and atovaquone worked well.
