That's wonderful, so happy to hear you are seeing improvements with your sleep!

I like olive leaf, I always get a response from it, seems effective. I'm not 100% what I'm hitting with it, seems to have pretty broad spectrum activity. I mostly heard it can hit lyme/bart, but maybe it hits a variety of other things too.

I think it's good to take the herbs for a few months then take a break/rotate. I seem to recall reading that it's important to take breaks from olive leaf, 60 days on and then break seems ok if memory serves. Could rotate to other anti-parasitic herbs during your break from those two. I throw out some herbal ideas: artemisia, black walnut hull, allicin, clove, blackseed oil, neem, oil of oregano...

Have you ever tried ivermectin, alinia, albendazole...? I always responded to those, the strongest for me was ivermectin. In my case I suspect I was hitting babesia with those anti-parasitics, but probably hitting a few other things as well.
It's a testament to the rollercoaster nature of these diseases that we can't get too excited about improvement. But it's a good sign to see improvement, even if there is a backslide at some point it shows that there are avenues that will help us move forward, and that improvement is possible (light at the end of the tunnel like you say!).

Are you working with an llmd?

Not that I recommend this, but I throw this out there. One can get ivermectin horse paste (I know this sounds ridiculous), you can probably search on this forum and find some mentions about it. Ivermectin is quite a safe drug, has a good side effect profile.

Yeah, I think it depends on babesia strain. Some are more difficult to knock down than others, plus it depends on immune system genetics and susceptibilities. Can be compounded if one has multiple babesia strains and other coinfections.

I can't remember, have you tried herbs for babesia? CSA, nauclea latifolia, dan shen, bidens pilosa... I'm guessing some of these also have some potential to not only hit babesia but occult parasitic infections... I recently got Buhner's babesia coinfections book, I'm finding it quite helpful, lots of good suggestions and options in there.
I find nauclea to be quite effective, and quite strong. That's great that crypto is effective for you! It was effective for me early on but then tapered off in effectiveness. I'm not familiar with usnea, can you tell me more about that one?

I hear you about the mold. You could just focus on trying to take detox stuff geared towards mold and see if that helps. I think activated charcoal has some effectiveness in regards to detoxing mold. I read Julie Reymeyer's book Shadowlands, it chronicled her journey with CFS (which she eventually figured out was caused by mold). Infrared sauna and coffee enemas were two things that really helped her. Of course it'd be good to get answers about your living space and mold. Imo better to know than not know. Even if you find out it is an issue, there can be things one can do to improvise and improve the conditions.
Sandyfeet,

about the mold, I would advise getting the ERMI test from Mycometrics and at least test your home. It costs $290. Don't waste any time or money on air tests, mold inspectors, petri dishes, etc.

The ERMI is the ONLY test that CIRS physicians work with and is the only test that can give you the health related information you need to know.

I have done 5 of these tests. I can help you understand how to interpret the results. I have only used the dust cloth kit. I've never used the canister vacuum kit.

Disclaimer: I have no personal or financial interest in the ERMI test or Mycometrics lab.
Sandyfeet,

Looks like I was editing my post at the same time you posted. I just posted info on mold testing.

Are you in Australia? There is a CIRS doc there. /www.survivingmold.com/sm-australia/surviving-mold-down-under

I'm a slow typer WalkingByFaith lol so I guess that's how I missed you - thanks for the information. I've been uncertain whether to go with testing myself or my environment first.

We live in an older house and I am fairly certain there is mold in there (the closets were musty from a leaking chimney when we moved in and there's been a slow leak in the ceiling between the first and second floors so I suspect there's stuff in there too) although I am the only one who has symptoms of any kind. We also just moved here when I had my tick bite so these things could be working together.

What got me thinking that this really could be an issue for me is that I almost always have air hunger when I go to a local yoga class. The studio is definitely musty and likely moldy. I don't get air hunger when I do yoga at home or any other kind of exercise. It's just a symptom that comes and goes for me other than this consistent link. It only occurred to me just recently that this might be a clue. I also had a very low CD57 and now I'm wondering if this would be part of the picture for that too.

I was thinking of doing either a c4a or the testing through realtime labs to see how I'm reacting to the mold. What do you think? I haven't figured out if I can do the ERMI testing easily from Canada or not but I will call on Monday to find out.

The very idea of suggesting work or remediation at home fills me with trepidation.

Thank-you so much for your thoughts WalkingByFaith!

I hate to put it so bluntly, but from what you said about your home, I can guarantee 100% you've got problematic mold. Don't bother testing at this point. You don't need a $290 test to tell you the obvious. Water damaged buildings have mold as well as microbial VOC's, that cause chronic inflammation, immune suppression, and disease such as MARCONS.

If you are serious about your health and safety, then look into moving to a clean environment. Spend the $$ doing an ERMI test on the place you plan to move to before sealing the purchase deal. Looks can be deceiving. I just backed out of a contract on a house that had no signs of water damage or mold after the ERMI test came back with elevated levels of total mold and toxic mold.

Be very careful about moving any possesions with you. Cross contamination is serious business. Make sure you research thoroughly and learn what can be cleaned and how. Don't risk contaminating a clean environment.

Stay out of the moldy gym and any other buildings that smell musty or that you have symptoms in or that have signs of water damage or mold. Just because you're family seems okay doesn't mean it's not affecting you or it's not serious enough to do something about it.
What about air purifiers for mold? is that a losing battle if the home is already so damaged, or can it provide some mitigation of the mold issue? /www.airpurifiers.com/pages/air-purifiers-for-mold-top-5-as-rated-by-experts

Julie got a little camper that she lived in outside of her mold-ridden house. I know that might not be practical, but maybe there are some workarounds?

I appreciate the bluntness smile

This would be such a big upheaval for my family that I feel like I need to know that mold sensitivity is part of my picture before I start. It's one thing to dabble in tinctures and ask everyone to go out of town with me for the odd blood test, but this would be massive. Feeling quite overwhelmed!

Overwhelming is an understatement. Mold is life altering, even more so than Lyme.

See if your family will look into this together with you.

Mold-
if your house Is moldy... move!

In the mean time;
Throw any old things that are the slightest bit musty away; books, clothes etc etc.

Clean everything with baking soda, vinegar, tea tree oil. Walls, floors, windows, doors especially the rubber sealers, steam clean carpets.

Parasites

I have had a huge difference in my well being from doing parasite cleansing. Whether actually worm parasites are being targeted or protozoan parasites or if the medicine targets borellia-I don’t know...all I know is I feel much better since.

This winter I did a 4 week psyllium and bentonite clay-Bowel cleanse; then parasite cleanse using black walnut wormwood and clove ala james Gilliland and much stronger dosages than dr hulda clark reccomends. I had great relief especially for my thyroid, head aches and heart tightness.

I’m presenty doing a Klinghardt protocol for parasites. Invermectin, pyrantel, just started the abendazole, and then alinia.
I had the first extended period of good feeling in a while, just feeling good inside. I have been getting out of the house, introducing myself to people, smiling, laughing. I’m very happy I came across it.

I decided to do it after reading an article about people having great results treating Lyme with Protozoa treatments like flagyl and tindamax.

I think it’s important what ever you do to rotate meds or herbs, these bugs are resilient and need to be addressed from many angles.

I know this is a little old and I just bumped a mimosa thread but have you had any results, good or bad, so far? I'm about to start taking it along with albendazole for a 10 day course during the full moon this month...
Is that 2 months straight? Or 4 rather. How much and how often do you take it now? I'm pretty sure I don't have babesia. I can't wait to start this if it helps though.
Oh okay, I think I will just be taking one a day, for parasites. It's coming from a pharmacy on the east coast so I guess they make it prescription grade. I know of the Para 1 formula though.
