Hi Cilly, osteoarthritis happens as we age, part of the aging process & it's wear & tear type thing. A lot of people have it & have no idea they have it because of no symptoms. Some people can have it at an early age. PA & RA are both autoimmune conditions & are diagnosed by a rheumatologist after appropriate testing.
