My friend had emergency surgery and has a stoma.
What foods can I make them and or what can I buy them that would help with supplies?
Books?
Casseroles?

Can you sew? You could make an ostomy bag cover!
Just tell them you love them and send them flowers or card...they just need time to adjust. It takes a little to deal with the new way of living and no one can say anything to make that happen.
Buy her a six pack of Ensure in whatever flavor she might like, one of the better liquid nutrition forms as she is healing.And send her a link to this forum!
In time your friend will probably like a stealthbelt, which you can get at stealthbelt.com If your friend is a veteran then they can get them free through the VA by asking their Wound Care Nurse for them.

Tried all medications including Remicade; adverse reaction to Remicade.
Completed final stage of 3 stage J-Pouch procedure December 28, 2012
J-Pouch failed due to chronic antibiotic resistant c-diff and Chrohn's disease of the pouch, so permanent end ileostomy surgery March 8, 2017.
