HI everyone,
I just wanted to introduce myself since as of today I am the new Diabetes forum Moderator.
On top of being a type 1 diabetic, I also have Crohns, Fibromyalgia, Ostioarthritis, Asthma, Migrains, High blood pressure, and yes I could go on, Now you know why I use the name Pin Cushion! LOL
I haven't been as active here as I should have been in the past, but I promiss to from now on. I bet I will get more out of this then I give by just being around more.
I use humor as my biggest weapon to battle my ailments. I believe that 90% of being as healthy is in my state of mind. Oh sure, I, like everyone else have my down days, but most days you wouldn't even be able to tell I wasn't "normal". Gee did I just use the N word?!?!?!
I am not an expert on any of ailments, I learn new things all the time , all I have to do is keep my eyes, ears and mind open and some how it seeps in.
Please remember what I post here like all the others are just my thoughts or opinions take what helps and leave the rest. If I can be of any help to anyone please feel free to ask and I will do my best to be of help, more times then not, it will be an encouraging word or maybe just share a smile if I can.
OK gang lets see what we can do to make this the most active forum at HW!

You sound like you fit the bill. I usually post on the heart board but I just found out I might have onset diabetes. If so, I'll be here often.

Hi Vinny... welcome to the world of dumb diabetes... Takes a while to get over the shock.. 
I actually went through a grieving process when I found out I was diabetic. Doing better now. I get Diabetes Self Management magazine and it's a huge help. Lots of info and recipies and hints about foot care and all that good stuff. Oh, and I read your post about the homemade spaghetti sauce... If I ask nice will you share your recipe?
AL!!! Didn't I just welcome you over in the fibroforum... We gotta quit meeting like this... People will talk! And bless your heart... you called me 'kiddo' in my last post. I haven't been called that in a while and I'm four years older than you!
Made my day. Glad you're being a moderator. Gotta have someone keep us all in line. I don't do finger pokes since I got my arm testing meter. Sooooo much better! Anyway, welcome and congratulations! And don't forget to check the moderator's forum for info and updates.
