The hospital just called, and said he was trying to get out of bed and his restraints and he was going to have to be moved to a sitter room. Doesn't know who he is or where he is. He will be possibly be on the 2nd floor. Good sign he is waking up.
Theresa and Mark.
My prayers are also with you both. I hope Mark continues to improve.

Hello All,

Thank-you so much for your Thoughts and Prayers! They mean so much to us! I could not have made without the Lords help! Mark is doing so much better! They were giving him 300cc of lactulose every 3 hours, via Naso Gastric tube. They removed the NG tube and his catheter today, and have cut the lactulose down. They started IV antibiotics, they believe he has an infection that may have contributed to the coma (a UTI). The transplant team is seeing him and have ordered several test. I am hoping they will finish his testing before he goes home. They have moved him to a private room, he no longer needs a sitter. I am going to stay home tonight and chill, since he is doing so well.

Love, Hugs, and Prayers to All!

Teresa

Great news Teresa,
I'm so relieved Mark is continuing his journey back and doing much better. It sounds like he is getting excellent care and the work-up by the transplant team is an added bonus.
It's amazing what a little UTI can do to someone with Cirrhosis. That's exactly what happened to Gene two years ago.
Take care of yourself and Michael and enjoy chilling out for the evening. Hopefully Mark will be home soon.
Love you,
Ma
Hi Teresa, So glad to hear Mark is doing so well & continuing to stableize quickly. Try to get some sleep & take care of yourself. My thoughts & prayers continue for you's. Love & Hugs. later....
Teresa - praying for you and Mark - I'm glad the transplant team is there and running test while in the hospital. hang in there!

Patty
That is great news, Teresa! We all have been very concerned. You must be totally exhausted, so you have the right idea in staying home and "chilling" now that you know Mark is stable. A good sleep will make a huge difference.

Keep us posted!

Hugs,
Connie
Hi Teresa, Did you get some sleep sweetie? I hope so. I hope Mark is still improving & will be home real soon. My thoughts & prayers continue for you's. Hugs & Love. later....

Hello my Friends,
Mark was discharged yesterday evening, I think maybe too soon. He had some trouble with his Blood Sugars being too high. When we checked it last night it was 422. They have started him on insulin twice a day, it did bring it down to 249, by the time we went to bed. This morning it was 213. Hopefully it will level out and come down some more. They will adjust it in a week, with his follow up appointment. He has also come home on antibiotics, for the UTI. He is mentally clear, does a few goofy things (but not too bad). I am so relieved. Mark has taken this incident very hard and has been very upset. Michael has done well, he told me God was taking care of his dad and not to worry. Thank-you for your prayers and thoughts. Hope everyone is doing okay, my Prayers are with you also!

Hugs

Hi Teresa,

Fortunately Mark has an excellent nurse in his home as well as a young spiritual adviser.

I'm very relieved that he is improving; it always takes time to get back on track and hopefully Mark's blood sugar will stay in a safe range.

At this point there probably wasn't much else they could do in the hospital and Mark will benefit from the nurturing attention he gets at home. There is nothing like sleeping in ones own bed alongside the person you love. It will be good for both of you.

Prayers will continue for the three of you.

Hugs,
Ma
